I can see and agree that Alien is horror but the Aliens is more of an action movie.

Hellraiser itself is an inventive take on demonic spirits though and a worthy horror movie.

Night of the Living Dead is a classic of the genre. I love the original Romero zombies… they embody the creeping inevitability of death and are in that way more “real” and scary than the modern athletic zombies. The movies also had underlying political themes and weren’t just monster movies.

The Exorcist is just a great movie and no movie has done demonic possession better. It perfectly portrays the anxiety of inexplicable awe in the face of an overwhelming world, something horror and religion share.

Damn shame '28 Weeks Later' fell out of the running.

Its a far superior movie than '28 Days Later' which fell apart in its 3rd act.

Weeks is a rare example of a 90 minute movie in which a single shot or line of dialog isn't wasted. Its perfectly edited & perfectly paced.

I may have to rewatch it. Its been a few years.

I didn't vote for jaws and aliens as I don't consider them horror and what to see more traditional genre hits prevail

but to have a brackets with reps from 5 franchise
(noes, scream, f13, hellraiser and notld)
and I voted for non of them to go to the finals is pretty brutal
in my defense
f13 1 no Jason no vote from me
noes 1 great movie and one of the strongest from the series but if it was dream warriors we were talking about I would put that above 28 days or pet sematary
scream iconic movie but when you are built on being meta you get run over by the originals in an atg goat convo imo
hellraiser excellent movie but if we are talking movies with demons in the same brackets as exorcist.... good luck
