She was a hell of a lady. Told the good old boys to get fucked back in the 50s when they threatened to boycott her show because there was a black cast member. She even got her tits out back in her day. Damn near made it to 100 too.

From this list, the most Sasha Baron Cohen is the most genius. What he did with Borat and Bruno was brilliant. I do not know I have ever laughed harder. Martin has great stand up and his TV show was hysterical. Chris Farley was an all time great on SNL and has some classic movies. Will Ferrell is my favorite comedic actor of all time---Step Brothers, Talladega, Old School, Wedding Crashers, his SNL skits were GOAT tier. My last pick is Michael Richards...his Kramer character warrants a place on the list.

Now I remember laughing at Sam Kinison, but I also remember sometimes just thinking "why the hell is he yelling?"
Some of you protesting David Letterman, why? He made people laugh 5 nights a week for over 30 years. He's worthy. Another unpopular opinion, I find Sasha Baron Cohen painfully unfunny over 90% of the time.

What's being asked isn't who is the best stand-up comedian. It's purely who you find funny based on their entire body of work. Kinison was a legend but White, Letterman etc had decades of comedy in various formats. Kinison also wasn't everyone's cup of tea. I don't see why people get so upset at these poll results.

I totally agree with Sacha Baron Cohen, the guy is a genius no doubt in my mind.

I’ve seen his shows and he was great. But you only had a couple years to see him and someone watching him today won’t have the same shock from him as you did when he was new. Same with dice clay, though 10 times worse for clay. Letterman sucks. Agree on that.

Breh, if a late night talk show host is a better funny man than a dedicated comedian like Sam Kinison, then Kinison was an abject failure. Its an absurd comparison.

This is valid reasoning here. It's the entire of the body of work and Betty White and Letterman are even more fan friendly than Kinison. Sam Kinison you either hate him or love him. There is no in between. Very controversial comedian indeed.

not including ed o'neill and married with children, martins show is by far my most favorite sitcom to exist even more so than seinfeld and i love seinfeld. martins talents in that show are incredible, also helps his entire cast was god tier actors themselves and they all shared great chemistry with each other on the show from day 1. the way martin and tisha played so well off of each other i would never have imagined there was any trouble among them had it not gone public lol.

But he wasn't just a late night talking head. There's a reason why so many comedians respect him and were inspired by him. For instance, Letterman was the first stand-up Norm Macdonald ever saw in person if I remember correctly. Norm loved and respected the hell out of him, which isn't an easy feat to accomplish. A lot of Letterman's stuff on his show was pretty hilarious. It's a shame he didn't have a longer leash. He also a great writer.
 
Chris Farley is prob the funniest in that list.

I realise letterman prob isn't as haha funny as many others on that list, but he was always one of my favs. And chris elliot is massively underrated because he hasn't put out as much high profile stuff. He's always funny in anything he does, was hilarious in scary movie.
