Anderson was a sniper that used speed and accuracy to win. I honestly don't think he was juicing his entire career, and even if he was, half his opponents were probably as well, and his style didn't even need power, or muscle mass to work. He probably would've had the same record with or without steroids.

Jon on the other hand, needed to use abnormal reach, eye gouges, and steroids (to help his clinch strength) to win.

Anderson is a purer fighter and didn't need no eye pokies.

Longest win streak in UFC LH 2. UFC champ for 5 years - 8 title defenses . In Silvas 20 years he was 1. the Shooto MW champ 2. Cage Rage MW champ 3. Fought in the biggest MMA promotion Pride FC 4. UFC MW champ for 6 years - 10 title defenses . Longevity and accomplishments is what GOATs are made of .

For me it is simple, every type of style (striker, grappler, lay-n-prayer, ground-n-pounder, point fighter) has a big problem to solve when fighting Jon Jones. You can be a good striker, but his take downs, and flashy stuff (when he wasn't scared to use them, before the money, fame and expectations) will make you hesitate, and blunt your striking.

If you want to grapple, Jon Jones is a strong grappler. He looks skinny but Daniel Cormier felt his power, and opted not to grapple with Jon Jones, because he knew, he would be gassed by the end of the seconds round.

For example, DC had no issues grappling Anderson Silva for 3 rounds (even if Anderson was 32 years old and his prime, DC was still going to beat him the same way).

On tape, Jon Jones has looked to be effective against every single style of MMA. In comparison, it looks like Anderson Silva is vulnerable against the strong boxer-wrestler with good fight IQ.

To add, Jon Jones has 56% striking accuracy, avoids 65% of strikes against him, completes 50% of his takedown attempts, and defends 95% of takedown attempts against him. In comparison, Anderson Silva has 61% striking accuracy (but throws less strikes), avoids 62% of strikes against him, completes 75% of his takedown attempts (but it is misleading because Jon Jones has attempted 18X more TDs), and defends 69% of TD attempts against him.

Jon Jones has a much higher output than Anderson Silva, and his numbers are either better or comparable.

On paper and on tape, Jon Jones is the better fighter. Fighting like Jon Jones will get you more success than fighting like Anderson Silva.
