This might be the aspect of OSP's gameplan that impressed me the most. Any time Jones started to position his spearfingers OSP just slapped his hand away. Over and over until Jones realised it wasn't happening and brought his hand back to guard. That was great.

Jones is getting figured out, I could set my watch to when he was going for a takedown.

Won't be long now before the Jones train derails

I thought that was brilliant. Just swat the shit out of his fingers until he stops doing it or you jam one really bad. OSP don't play that shit.

You obviously dont know what shutting someone down looks like

I think DC would have beat that Jon Jones. And I think he will win the second match. But then I think they will have a third fight, and by then DC will be too old and Jones will again. But this second fight I think DC will put on the pressure, outbox Jon, and land the takedowns he needs.

having a predictable response (especially one that jeopardizes your defense) triggered by a simple and low risk action is not ideal

Now he just needs to figure out the face punch and leg kicks games and he's set.

It was amusing, but it also looked like he was lost in there. "Oh no, here comes the reach, ermmm slap, slap, slap"

Ovince, perhaps if you just swung a punch or a nice kick to the body there you might hurt the guy.

Still showed heart though, cannot take that away!

I almost go the feeling OSP was trying to conserve himself instead of going for the win. It felt like he knew he would gas himself if he did too much.

Yup this.

Rumble probably watched the fight thinking damn I should had accepted! Rumble would have KO'ed Jon quickly imo.

Yes, it looked like OSP had him ALL figured out.

In reality, it simply looked like Jon was a bit rusty.

So doing nothing and conceding five rounds to Jones is the key to avoiding eye pokes? Brilliant.

OSP looked exhausted. Proper training camp OSP > Prision Jones

I want to see a rematch when they're both properly training camped and non rusted

I totally agree. Its was too obvious that he wanted to conserve his energy

First of all you need to put things into perspective. Jones trained to fight DC. DC is a "Short" wrestler. DC pulled out of the fight because of BS injury. OSP takes the fight Jones accepts 3 weeks prior to fight. OSP is a "Tall" stand up fighter. Jones trained for short wrestler and only had 2 weeks to train for tall stand up of OSP. The reason why Jones didn't look dominant but still ended up winning all rounds.

Osp only has one good eye and he'll be damned if jones takes it.

If Jones fought a 1 leggged fighter could he avoid the kicks to the knee?

I bet Jones' fingers are awfully sore today. They took a hell of a swatting.
