Just re-watching some of his fights to see how I feel about his chances vs Bones. Much to my surprise, I give him way less of a chance to win than I did before.

His footwork is pretty shitty, and he throws a tremendous amount of arm punches. Jones has great footwork and a mastery of judging distance. I think that he is going to constantly catch OSP out of position because OSP is out of position quite a lot. He does a TON of crossing his feet--that's a gift to wrestlers.

This isn't to Shit on OSP in the long run. It also means that he's got tremendous upside: if he can knock people out with arm punches, that means his potential for power punches is through the roof--now he needs to go and find himself a better striking coach...

No way he corrects these problems before he faces jones.

I have to agree, his footwork is definitely not elite but he does tend to catch people with strikes from weird angles. He is just a tough guy with good skill but not elite skill.

You did not just watch his last fight i hope?

Edit: nevermind.. i thought he hurt his ankle in the first round.. might be mistaken here my bad.

Just based on movement alone, I'm thinking that Jones embarrasses OSP.

I'm envisioning something quite a lot like Holly vs Ronda

i wouldnt be suprised if he blasted jones by ko only reason being jones is brain dead and if his head isnt into it or he takes osp as a joke he can be slept. not likely buy just mabye ?

IDK dude, I think this is the year of the underdogs, my money is on OSP

If Jones loses it will be the biggest disappointment in MMA history since Saku lost to Silva 1.
Not because people are huge Bones fans but because it would derail the Jones Cormier fight.

The whole UFC 197 is a pretty Meh event to me. JBJ via sub first round. Waiting on UFC 198

i think its safe to say Jones is better everywhere like literally
the only advantage OSP has is his k.o power but Jones can take a hit and his ability to not get hit clean is touch notch

ronda lost
conor lost
andy lost

don't be surprised if jones loses too.

I agree. I watched a few of his recent fights and he seems to gas pretty quickly which Jones has no problem with as we all know. Great opportunity for OSP to shock the world but I don't see it happening. I see something similar to when Jones fought Glover.

Jones will likely catch a kick, score a take down, then submit, or TKO OSP in the first round. Very easy fight for Jones.

I watched OSP Cummins last night and I think it's safe to say, based on that performance, Jones should absolutely destroy OSP with ease.

If OSP beats Jones its pretty much the upset of the year

Not to mention that OSP has poor takedown defense, his takedown defense is nowhere near good enough. Jones will take him down easily if he wants too, and probably choke him out

Easy return fight for Jones, the difference in talent gap between the top 3-4 LHW and the guys hovering anywheres after 5 is huge. I agree, Jones makes this look easy.
