If you´re gonna have someone reading the nominees, at least have someone that doesn´t stumble upon every word.

Does anyone care for the technical categories? "Best sound editing"?

Three Billboards should win everything tbh. Never seen a more dominant film.

Film
Lead Actress
Supporting Actor

Nailed on.

If you want to see an awesome movie then it’s three billboards. The acting in that movie is amazing.

This year is more about seeing acting in specific movies than seeing one or two epic films. Gary oldman is awesome, Margot Robbie is grea, everyone in billboards is awesome.

Best picture and directing very lackluster this year. I predict Guillermo will win director since he made a very artistic although slightly boring film, but he used a lot of metaphors and nicely done scenes that the academy likes.

Best picture will go to the post, I’m almost sure of it. The last two years they denied the actual best pictures in lieu of socially “relevant”films in spotlight and moonlight. This year with all the speech issues and women’s issues, the post is prob gonna give them the tinglies.

And Streep will win so she can give a speech. It should go to frances mcdormand but I just know the academy is gonna push hard for Meryl.

just gonna sum up my opinion about this whole event with a gif

Its weird that the oscars are the most prestigious award when their choices seem to be the least credible of all the major award shows.

- Three Billboards should win in most categories its nominated for.
- Dunkirk will win nothing, but should win everything involving cinemetography and editing.
- Frances Mcdormant > Meryl Streep.
- The shape of water was boring.
- The Post was self-congratulating and weak.
- The darkest hour doesnt deserve a best picture nomination.
- Lady Bird will likely win more than it should.
- Saorise Ronan is in nothing but fantastic films.

I have to shake my head every time I see Get Out/Jordan Peele nominated for anything over Blader Runner 2049/Denis Villeneuve.

@shadow_priest_x

Blade Runner got a little love..Not in any of the main categories but I think it will win a few technical ones

Shape of Water is pretty overrated by the academy

if Roger Deakins doesn’t win best cinematography i’m out dis bitch

Logan for best adapted screenplay? Comic book movies are infiltrating the Oscars now?

Best animated feature
  • Boss Baby
  • The Breadwinner
  • Coco
  • Ferdinand
  • Loving Vincent

I heard good things about Coco and Ferdinand, but my god this category is weak this year.

Never a big fan of any other category in this shit show though.

@BisexualMMA Rian Johnson got nominated for Best Director and Original Screenplay for The Last Jedi.

<bball2>

Nothing blew me away this year but 3 Billboards, Disaster Artist, Killing of a Sacred Deer were probably the best movies of the bunch. Lots of good performances in films that just needed some tightening up. Shape of Water should win design awards and nothing else.

All the male nominees probably don't want to win, because you win something and then you get #metoo'd for the publicity.

Didn't even know MJB was in a move called Mudbound???
Who watches these movies and why have I never heard of (most) them?

I’m not a big cartoon fan and coco is the only one on that list I saw but that movie was terrific, I recommend it to everyone

I'm surprised by the hate for Shape of Water in this thread.
