Regardless of Ortega vs Holloway or his 145 lb future.

Does anyone else feel he might he the toughest opponent for Khabib at LW?

Conor, Tony, Kevin Lee, Ortega?

Man... Would Khabibs style work against Ortegas BJJ?

He could probably threaten enough with subs to keep him from getting destroyed, but I doubt he'd actually get any on Khabib. Would probably just loose the decision by being on his back the whole fight. I know he has powerful hands, but the way he plants his heels and brawls leaves him very open for takedowns. I'd say he's the least difficult out of those four match-ups based on what we've seen, especially considering we haven't seen him fight at lw.

That being said, he is undefeated, constantly improving, and big for his weightclass, so it wouldn't be too surprising to see him become a top lw.

He's one of the few guys that MIGHT be able to hang with Khabib on the ground.

Dudes sub game is next level.

Who knows. Khabib would probably just stand

Khabib's sub defense is crazy (from watching his sambo/grappling matches). It'd be a crazy fight because Ortega's sub game is on another level.

I think Ortega would take a lot of damage under Khabib while trying to lock stuff up. Ortega would probably spend a lot of the fight adjusting and learning where he can create opening on Khabib.

Khabib would definitely use his throws and trips to avoid guard as much as humanly possible. His passes are fast as hell. He passes guard like a hot knife through butter. He knows how to control limbs and prevent offense better than most in the game.

It would be a super high level ground battle. I'd love to see it.

Ortega might be able to catch him in a scramble with a sub but being on your back with Khabib on top of you is exactly where you don't want to be.

Khabib would probably run through him. It's tough to be a submission guy off your back in modern MMA, once you get to that high a level. You never know though, maybe Ortega catches him with a guillotine or triangle. Or hey, based on the Frankie fight, maybe he starts KO'ing people now left and right with hellbows & uppercuts. Probably Khabib 50-45 though.

No. Khabib is too big for Ortega and Ortega could not threaten Khabib from his back. Khabib toughest fights would come from above LW, not below.

Pretty much anywhere on the ground with Khabib is hell.

Has converted on the MMA equivalent of the Football "Hail Mary" in about half of his fights. Including the spam knee against Guida who was out striking him.

For all the hype about his sub skills; how the hell did he not get a hold of Guida's neck? Oliveira had no issues whatsoever making quick sub work of Clay.

Ortega has the boxing advantage and if anyone can catch Khabib in a guillotine it would be Ortega.

Fun fight
