Opinion on Refcams in MMA?

Nah it's probably bullshit. I want the ref to concentrate on his job rather than trying to capture the best angle for film

I'm in. Then we could see just how bought and paid for Herb Dean is, from a 1st person point of view

Imagine Herb with one... It would show him looking off in the other direction then suddenly sprinting towards someone who gets dropped. Then dancing around trying to work out what to do before making the incorrect call.

This one is one of my favourites...

They tried it in pride but couldn’t get the ratio / clearness correct so it just looked off to me.

I loved it in Pride, some amazing angles, striking seemed more visceral, and really gives more depth to takedowns, just seemed more "Real" if you will?

If done properly, sure. Provides a unique angle that makes you feel closer to the action.

I don't see their point. The quality and the shots are not anywhere near as good as from the sports broadcast cameras, so why bother? Your opinions?

(Thought of asking above question because ref Bryan Miner had one on while reffing Moraes vs. Moraes in the PFL event.)
Why not have it for a unique vantage point? They would and should only go to it occasionally. Since it detracts from nothing, having it is a win-win.

I always enjoyed the ref cams, & the ones complaining about Prides quality of ref camera, seem to forget the huge technological progress cameras have gone through since Pride.

Go pros are a thing, & the quality always seem great to me, + you just can't beat ref camera angles when it comes to seeing why they made a decision(like seeing/hearing taps, their inability to see fouls because their angles are vastly different to the cameras on the Octagon sides, or if people think a stoppage was early, they can check ref angles to maybe see better positioning that fighter was KO'd/done)

Tbh, don't see how the "negatives"(get it? Cameras & negatives!!<45>)outweighs the positive with having them!

I don't mind it. Gives us a different perspective of the fight. So that's cool.
