A fact that Khabib wants to fight a retired 40 year old GSP - doesn’t it make him look weak?

Khabib always said about his legacy of he beats GSP but even if he does it’s not like he would beat him in his prime? What kind of legacy is that?

It only makes him look weak imo

Khabib isn't weak, so he doesn't have much to worry about when it comes to looking weak. Khabib don't care about that kind of optics. We're talking about a guy who takes bubble baths with his whole team.

GSP is a legend of the sport aa well as a huge draw. Nothing wrong with wanting to fight him, even outside of his prime.

Its not about what you think. Khabib grew up watching gsp and is his favorite fighter. His father wanted it and khabib as a fan does too.

So make the challenge @ 170 and put the ball in GSP's court.. GSP is 40 with basically 2 fights in 10 years..

@ 170 that would be hard for GSP to turn it down.. He is thinking Catchweight.. So make him an offer he can't refuse. That is 170..

Khabibs doesn’t want to fight GSP! If he did he would agree to meet the MW champion at WW at least. His insistence that GSP nearly die from cutting to 156 and comes into the fight depleted only shows his own lack of belief in beating (a very old)GSP.

Not accommodating GSP at all costs for this fight is pretty ridic imo. GSP is turning 40, if he would only want to fight at 185 lbs, Khabib should still accept and give in to any demand (within reason) he makes to get this fight going.

There's no bigger legacy fight for Khabib atm outside of beating Usman.

I'm sick of this shit - let's move on. The original fight was to be at 155....Georges gets mauled as well as a catch. A welterweight fight isnt fsir to khabib agsinst a healthy 39 year old gsp( & khabib would still be favored ).

GSP was " hector camacho d" by Matt Serra. Gsp s attitude and style changed forever after that fight. Yes the goat welter with a bunch of smotherfest defenses over guys inferior to him ( for the most part). He did fight with his head and those doubles. This is where I separate him from THEE goat ( not - take a step back and think ).

I personally don't care for this fight. If GSP was his idol, let him go. But this is basically Izzy vs Silva for LW. Maybe if Khabib held the belt and GSP made LW it would be interesting. But it just seems like a money grab towards the end. Would be more impressed if Khabib called out Usman and went for the WW title for his last fight.

I’ll watch it and get pretty excited, I’ll admit that, but there are more intriguing fights for Khabib out there, imo. If GSP was still active and in his prime it would be a different story, but that’s just fantasy. If they do fight I just hope it’s gonna be at 170 or even heavier. As the younger and recently way more active guy, Khabib ought to pay GSP that kind of respect.
