Opinion on Khabib vs GSP

A fact that Khabib wants to fight a retired 40 year old GSP - doesn’t it make him look weak?

Khabib always said about his legacy of he beats GSP but even if he does it’s not like he would beat him in his prime? What kind of legacy is that?

It only makes him look weak imo
 
GSP has fought at 170 and 185, while Khabib has fought at 155 only. GSP is supposedly the "GOAT" according to his fanboys. GSP has had only one fight in the last 7 years, against Bisping, so it's not like he's accumulated additional fight miles since his "prime."

Khabib doesn't look weak at all.

Khabib nuthuggers will say anything to make him look better.
They'll claim 40 year old GSP who had 1 fight in 7 years is prime GSP

It's starting to make more sense why Khabib Nurmagomedov so badly wants to fight Georges St-Pierre -- it was his father's plan.

Khabib's dad, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, passed away back in July after battling COVID. Khabib and his dad were extremely close. Abdulmanap trained him since he was a little kid back in Dagestan.

Khabib will step back in the Octagon for the first time since his father's death on Saturday to take on Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 ... but he's talked publicly about wanting GSP as his next opponent.

We spoke with Khabib's trainer Javier Mendez who tells us he was with Khabib and his father in Dagestan back in 2019, when Abdulmanap talked about his dream for Khabib to fight St-Pierre.

"I was present when they had that conversation," Mendez says ... "That was the one he talked about as the fight his father would want to see … him fight GSP at 155 pounds."

"His father respected GSP probably more than anybody out of all the people he admired ... and therefore he wanted his son to fight GSP at some point."

In other words, it seems Khabib is calling out GSP in the hopes of honoring his father's wishes.

In the meantime, Javier tells us he's been incorporating Abdulmanap's training techniques for the Gaethje fight -- reminding Khabib to follow "Father's Plan."

Acting like gsp is a geriatric patient when he's younger than Yoel & DC is just weird. Anyone who knows anything about GSP knows that NO ONE IN THE UFC cares more about his legacy than him, and he thinks he can win so that's good enough for me. Yes I'd rather see Khabib fight Chandler or Usman, but he is in fact taking a huge risk to his undefeated record by fighting GSP.

I've been saying for a long time now that this fight will happen & when it does it'll be one of the rare ppv's I'll buy.
 
these threads remind me that a large percentage of Sherdog posters appear to dislike both MMA and MMA fighterss
 
Looks like both don't want it anymore. They could have make a one and done belt like the BMF, called it the GOAT Belt and fought at open weight. Would have been awesome.
 
Old Man GSP is still the most talented athlete Khabib would have face in his life.
Also, if GSP aka the most cerebral fighter ever think he has ways to beat Khabib, it's probably true and Khabib might have it tougher than some of you are giving him.

Khabib is really a WW whos reputed walk around weight climbs exponentially with every ridiculous post when hes no bigger than any other LW.
