[Opinion] Gane proves A level athlete hypothesis

That is demonstrably false. Gane played basketball and soccer as a youth in the French system. He simply wasn't good enough to progress in either. That is why he spent the first half of his twenties working regular jobs.

At age 26, Gane had a very average physique.

But when he showed up on the regional MMA in 2018, he had added an unusual amount of muscle mass in only 2 years.

He fought at LHW then... That's like saying Rumble did roids because he used to fight at 170 and then he gained a ton of mass. HW is Games natural weight class

To an extent, at least. He is a tremendous athlete that could have played any sport. Basketball, soccer, football. Yet he chose muay Thai at a fairly advanced stage in his life, and now he's fighting for the HW belt. He clowns everyone in the division besides the other A level athlete Ngannou.

Hardy was not an A level athlete, since being a defensive tight end only requires a sort of brute strength and not much else. So don't use him as a counter example.

Fact remains, if LeBron was trained to fight MMA from a relative young age, he would destroy everyone including Ngannou. I could see him finishing Ngannou in particular with a judo slam into heavy, vicious GnP. Almost like the Jon Jones of the HW division but with scary athleticism .

Gane will destroy Jones too I'm afraid, as Jon is no A level athlete

Pretty On Par white belt post..

The guy who played A level sports isnt A level but the guy who never did is ...

True story...

Also ... A level athletes means shit all in fighting ... U need to have the heart to be a fighter, most guys who play those sports don't they havent had to grind like fighters/wrestlers have

Could, but it is not a certainty. Cr7 is a beast of an athlete but the guy would roll from Portugal to China if he got hit with a good jab in the face. What makes you think Lebron can take a good one to the face or a liver kick?

That’s my biggest if with people claiming elite athletes would rule in combat sports. Can they take a punch and pain? Nobody knows. I know Gane can.

I disagree, Jon Jones has two brothers who played in the NFL at the highest level. His family has "A level athletic genes" whatever that means. He is practically undefeated and seen as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time for a reason and it's not because he isn't athletic this is just stupid.

Being an A-level athlete requires a lot of work in addition to genes. There are 82 games a season in basketball. Fighting 1-2 times a year might make them lazy and fat.

Gane grew up playing soccer and Basketball but wasn't good enough to get paid for it.

What evidence is there for him being an A level athlete who could excel in non-combat sports apart from being big and shredded?

Another unitedstatian dreaming about big mucles guys fighting.

Any mf from Thailand is beating any mf you guys are calling A-Levelwhatever.

Ngannou is freakishly strong but is he Sherdog's the definition of A level athlete?

His stats... Agile, strong, can jump high (360 dunks), fast, hits hard, shredded, can take a punch. Basically he's running circles around these slow HWs, isn't that evidence enough ?

He's obviously naturally huge and athletic, but he's way too big for soccer and too short/big for basketball. There aren't many 6'4 245 lb soccer/basketball players.

He'd be better suited for rugby or American football if we are talking professional team sports.

Depends. Thais are very small, sure they have amazing athletes for the height and weight, but they suddenly become nobodies in HW kickboxing.

GTFO! LeBron is a bad argument as he is a giant pu**y!

There is no such thing as an A level athlete.. It is an idiotic sherdog creation.

He can dunk bro

Based on this forum's reaction to that single gif it makes him GOAT athlete ever.

This is the equivalent of a manlet claiming to be tall because his brother is. Jones can't even dunk a basketbal with his ridiculous wingspan, nor does he even punch that hard for a light heavyweight. He is not an A level athlete.

There is no correlation between how big or athletic you are and how good of a fighter you are

Period

You can win some fights based on size and athleticism, but that doesn’t mean you’re a good fighter. You can learn technique and combinations and perform them, but it doesn’t mean you can fight.

How many pro athletes have siblings? Most of em. How many of these siblings are also professional level athletes? The odd one, here and there.

Having an athlete brother does not make a person an athlete. Maybe it goes tye other way, maybe Jon's brothers snaked all the athletic genes and left him the eye poking and pulsing genes?

HW is the worst division in every Combat Sport there is, i really dont care, i'm not unitedstatian.
