I'm on Netflix watching "The Dark Knight Returns, part 2" which portrays Batman and Superman coming to blows. I know it's a Sherdog fan favourite and a number of you have seen it but, coming into the recent BvS, I had this in mind for how I wanted their big screen confrontation to go down - and I was sorely let down. On top of that, the dramatic finale, wasn't something like this:
"You're feeling it now aren't you? What the rest of us live with every day. Your own mortality. Don't worry, you'll survive... I want you to remember that... And all that years to come, in all your private moments, I want you to remember the one man who beat you."
It was "Marttthhhhhaaaa!"
When all was said and done, the actual fight of BvS, Batman VS Superman, was for me a letdown compared to an animated movie I can watch on Netflix any time. On top of the dramatic finale being just kind of sad in comparison, the action was dull and uncreative - the actual fight was a bland back and forth of weak Superman getting tactlessly beat up and then a strong Superman marching forward like a bull moose.
Am I the only one who went into BvS thinking of The Dark Knight Returns, part 2, and was let down when it was what it was? Screw comparisons to Marvel - DC has done a far better job of this matchup on the screen already.
How do you think the actual fight between Batman and Superman in BvS compares to the fight between the two in The Dark Knight Returns, part 2?
