He lost round 1 as well. It's muay thai not kickboxing. Even though One muay thai bares little resemblance to stadium muay thai those clean body kicks still score super high.

Yup. Sitthichai was outscored handily in the 1st round, he couldn't get his kicks to land and most of his punches missed as well, meanwhile his opponent got lots of scoring strikes in. Knockdown wins the 2nd round automatically since Sitthichai couldn't get a knockdown of his own, that's 2 rounds down so the only way he can win is with a finish.

More off falling due to getting unbalanced since the kick was caught.

It's further proof how past his prime Sitti is. He was a great glory champ. Maybe he should go back to kickboxing

Clean body kicks win fights in muay thai.. so he definitely won round 1. Round 2 was ruled a knockdown unfortunately so automatically 10-8.

Sittichai needed a KO to win by round 3 and both guys knew that. Otherwise yeah he took round 2 and 3. Unlucky.
Makes sense, maybe im not too familiar with muay thai rules/scoring. That 2nd round in mma is not a 10-8, it was a slip/knockdown but sittichai won that round with way more strikes. Its a 10-9 and the 3rd is 10-9 sittichai. I guess the 1st round is the deciding one and the kicks are scored more than punches.

I think this MMA gloves muay thai stuff has the potential to get pretty popular. There's a tonne of skill and violence involved as well as awesome highlight reel KOs which casuals in particular drool over. Somehow they have to find a way to market it to the west as well as be more clear about explaining their scoring system as they don't really make it clear and a lot of people get confused and think its full of robberies every card and get turned by it.

I absolutely love FNF though, makes it a lot easier to follow the big names of muay thai and the individual results feel a bit more meaningful than stadium fights which don't seem to matter as much from fight to fight.
