Also, that is part of the sport, a big part of the sport and an exciting (particularly with the pace and agression of that fight) element of the fight that I WANTED TO SEE.

Elbows and knees in the clinch are badass. That is a big part of what makes muay thai cooler/different than kickboxing.

I actually wonder if maybe the ref thought it was a kickboxing fight???
