On TUF 1 and Jason Thacker

Reality show bs will always abuse people like him.
But we will reap what we sow.

Fans aren't mean. People are mean. That's why I didn't understand the anti bullying campaign from a few years ago. To me it seemed like they were highlighting children being bullied but completely ignoring that adults bully each other in all aspects of life from work to intimate relationships.
And Dana is a massive asshole bully; starts from the top down.

Yeah I read that a few years ago. Super interesting stuff.

It was a perfect shit storm. He would have been better off had they never called him back after the told him they didn't need it. Maybe school would have worked out for him the 2nd time around. Maybe.

Thacker seemed like a real nice on TUF. I felt bad for him with what Leben did to him. I actually felt bad for Leben too but he was a prick to Thacker first, which I'm sure he regrets.

What's funny though is that although he was made out to be an utter joke and he clearly didn't belong there; he challenged Leben to a fight after he discovered the pissing in his bed incident. He got ko'd but good on him for actually standing up for himself.

What's even funnier is that the majority of folk who shat on Thacker back in the day would get pummeled by him if it came to it.

That deserves a like and 3 Yoels!

Honestly I respect and almost admire dudes like this more than anyone; maybe I'm romanticizing authenticity too much and downplaying the suffering, but I place most of that blame onto the people who treat guys like Thacker so awfully.
Wankers who the UFC promotes are for the most part contrived fake personas and generally sell the idea of being an egomaniac asshole as how to live.

I am going to guess Leben wouldn't have done that if it wasn't for a reality TV show egging him into it, but maybe not.

I mean, by all accounts it wasn't just fans, it was fighters involved in the scene as well.

Being honest, fans wouldn't have remembered much if at all of Thacker after Griffin/Bonnar. The canadians involved in the MMA scene at the time though, that's a different matter.
Yup, forgot to mention that fighters were even worse.

I remember when this was posted when it came out. Interesting article. Seems like a good dude. People are assholes. News at eleven.

This is the truth here. People are generally shitbags. It isn't just MMA fans. MMA just brings out the worst in people, sometimes.

Fans are too mean sometimes. When people are mentally suffering, you just stop pushing them any further.

Or just don't push people at all and mind your own business, whether they're mentally suffering or not lol.
