Rewatch On this date in UFC history...almost

Rory could have been champion against so many different guys that night he just hit a brick wall in prime Lawler. I don’t think I’ve ever seen another fight in the UFC where both guys were more fucked up, maybe Hooker/ Poirier.

Seems like yesterday but 9 years ago and 2 days lol was in my opinion one of the best fights of all time.
Rory vs Robbie...rewatch and enjoy the blood bath you just bleed mofos

If you hadn't seen the fight, you would've thought it was bare knuckle. If you still haven't seen this fight, shame on you.

ahahaha I'm watching the vid right now and it confused the shit out of me because for the first two minutes they had the wrong number of rounds up. I was trying to figure out if it was the first fight, mislabelled, but, no, that didn't make sense. (I have audio turned off, so I missed everything they were saying that would have confirmed this is the second match.)

EDIT: that jab at 4:35 is sweetness.

I'll never forget watching this in the Hustler Casino with two casuals talking before the fight and saying "This guy doesn't even have any muscles" and went outside to smoke lol. They came back after the fight was done. Great night.

Fucking incredible fight. Rory's red masque and Robbie's second mouth. Brutal.

I always found the ref's description of the fight interesting:

"“What I’m seeing when I’m watching Robbie and Rory – Rory is, in the first round, landing more punches, but they’re not real hard,” McCarthy said. “Robbie is not throwing a lot, but when he’s landing shots they are thudding shots. They are heavy. And then he ends up breaking his nose in the first round. I watch Rory and he starts doing what we call aspirating blood."

The ref should leave these concerns for the Doc, that is why he is there.

All time great fight. In my opinion, the greatest fight in UFC history.

As mentioned by a few here, Rory took one of the biggest beatings ever and he never quite recovered from it. Robbie took a hellish beating too, then another hellish beating in the Condit fight right after, then his career fell off.

Appreciate 'em while they're here, you never know when your favorite fighter stops being that guy.

this was NINE years ago?!?!?!?1.....................................................................

I've watched thousands of fights, but this is one that I watch again and again.
They both show such heart and determination, but Robbie was like a rabid dog in that fight and just wouldn't be denied.

Both a bag of meat at the end, absolutely beautiful the way they gutted it out together, each raising the bar for the other until Robbie broke that bar over Rorys face.

Rory won that fight. Lawler was feeling the lip pain at the end and was running away the whole time, then managed to sway the low IQ judges and many fans by staring Rory down AFTER the fight was over
"Omg he's walking him down! Omg the look on Lawler's face!"
AFTER the fight was over and he ran his way to a decision.
