I've been wanting to be taught by Dieselnoi for some time now, between him, Kru Dam and Samart Payakaroon these are the guys I'd most like to train with. I've not been to Thailand before but have been training in Muay Thai for a few years now. I'd say I'm fairly decent everywhere but I'd really like to expand upon my clinch game and from the videos I've seen of Dieselnoi both teaching and fighting, it seems like he'd be able to help me the most.

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the stand up technique forum (so please move if necessary), I wondered whether Snubnoze, Ryuku Damashe or Haruakaze would know where he currently trains at. I've tried to find his gym a few times but he's either not actively coaching people or just a very difficult man to find.

If any of you can help then it would be greatly appreciated.

Stay safe.

You can find Samart Payakaroon at Poptheeratham Gym. Seems like a good gym and has good fighters. I have no clue where dieselnoi is.

Sometimes the best fighters are not always the best trainers. Fighting and training fighters are 2 completely different things. The majority of trainers in Thailand that have been awarded with "trainer of the year" were not good fighters. Kinda like Manny Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach. Great trainer and not so good fighter.

If your doing this as a genuine fan who just wants a one on one with a legend then fair enough but if your doing this to help develop into a better fighter your better off finding a quality trainer and paying them for one on one sessions and also finding a gym with good fighters at your weight to spar/clinch with. You'll learn more from a well renowned trainer who has trained up champions then you would from an ex legendary champion. People tend to look at the fighters but forget about the trainers who got the fighters to that place they at.

he does go in to some gyms from time to time, see him always in the stadiums in the second class section all the time, I will ask him if he does any teaching anywhere next time I see him

He is doing some kind of program with the thai tourism authority where he is teaching muaythai with a bunch of other legends. I think it is called muaythai alliance but I'm not sure.

I went to a seminar with Jomhod one time, the guy has some awesome techniques so if you have the chance, then there's another legend worth training with.

.

Thank you for the help :) I saw some videos of Diesel teaching Sylvie from 8 Limbs and he seemed like a very good coach but I wasn't sure on whether he did it full time or not.

I completely agree with you about training with high level trainers as well, Kru Dam of Sitmonchai is another man I'd love to work with at some point :)

Thank you very much :)

He is on Facebook, so you can look for him there (he has a personal page on top of his Athlete page).

I was at sitmonchai for 2 months n kru dam was good...very technical! My gym recently had Samart in for a seminar, he turned up nearly an hour late & seemed uninterested! He was nice though & surprisingly headed outside during the seminar for a smoke lol! It appears his wife was actually telling him what to teach and what he did show was really super basic ,even after our trainer had explained we didn't really want basics as we have all trained with him for a few years (our trainer is originally from muangsurin gym, now closed but produced a lot of golden era names) and most of us have had quite a few fights.

I guess that's what you should reasonably expect from a legend acting as trainer.

Samart supposedly got bored with the game in the mid 80's. 30 years later he's traveling around the world teaching civillians for a paycheck. what would you expect?

lol at going out for a smoke that's just awesome!

spoke with Dieslenoi tonight at Lumpini, he doesn't teach at any gyms at all now, but can arrange some private work with him no problem!

Hello, just wanted to say thank you both very much for your help (everyone else too), I will keep you posted on what happens!

Here is the great irony of this thread. I found his facebook and it turns out that both of my coaches are friends with him XD talk about over complicating things for myself :P

i would like to do some privates when i go thailand in july!

Thought I would update:

While I sent Dieselnoi a message, I didn't get a reply, that being said it is likely in his "other" box and I don't know how good his English is. Hopefully I'll be able to get hold of him in the future, but I don't want to berate him.

The good news is that I'm still in contact with Sakmongkol and Rambaa Somdet, I'm likely going to ask about training once I've got the money!
