I judge current Oliveria on his record having moved back up to LW. Andy had some pretty ugly losses at WW prior to his UFC MW run and he’s the consensus GOAT MW

Oliveira got clipped by Felder in his 2nd fight back at LW, but I don’t think that automatically disqualifies him from ever presenting a GOAT argument. Hypothetically speaking, if he goes on to clean out the division then I’d probably put him over Khabib based on depth of resume

Not saying that’s gonna happen. Just that his prior losses don’t automatically preclude him from a divisional GOAT run

He also tapped to strikes against Felder and that was just 3 years ago. That was his last loss before his streak. Until fighting Lee and Tony he wasn't exactly fighting a whos who of top 10 LWs. Lee was 2-3 going in to the fight with Oliveira and Tony looked like Gaethje took his soul. Those are his best wins, in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, I think Charles looks great and may be peaking at the right time but only hindsight will tell us if he just caught guys at the right time.

I think he has a chance. He has the best subs in the division and his striking has improved. I just don't know if he's actually as good as he's looked or if it's a combination of his improving, the competition he's fought and catching Lee and Tony at the right time.

Nobody else in Oliviera's streak is striking fear in the hearts of anybody. Guida? Lentz? Jim Miller? Teymur?

He's gotta do some spectacular stuff over his next 10 fights, win a title and defend it many times. Despite his losses early in his career, there is still a shot can reach LW goat.

For once we might actually agree, losing shouldn't be the end all be all to determine the GOAT, but it DEFINITELY helps to know that throughout your run, no one could fuck with you or the style you imposed, that shows an uncanny level of dominance.

I still think Khabib will be remembered as being greater than Charles no matter what Charles does to be honest, he means so much to Dagestan and that region that him being considered one of the GOATS goes far beyond what he did in the cage.

He's almost like Ali in that sense, where it's not just about what he did inside the cage, but what he was able to do outside of it as well. Ali had 5 losses, but the impact he made on the world far overshadowed that, and the circumstances surrounding his losses made it easy for people to write them off. Khabib never lost a fight and arguably has had as big an impact on that region, thus he will always be remembered for it.

As game as Charles is History won't remember him the same way they will Khabib.

Whatever happened in that region and why he is idolized... that's irrelevant for GOAT talks.

Khabib might be unbeaten, but he stayed as a champion, fighting the best a small fraction of time, when you compare with Fedor, GSP, Silva or even Aldo

So I disagree Khabib will ever be considered a consensus GOAT.

And if Oliveira gets the belt and continues dominating for the next 8-9 years against the best of the division, he can definitely surpass Khabib... easily!
