Such salt. Makachev beat Volk ( albeit could have gone either way) on foreign land with all the odds against him . That was the worst Makachev against Volk and an ostensible green against Olives. He starches both next time.

The salt in this one could amount to a mine . He dismantled Oliveira and made him look pedestrian who was on a remarkable win streak against a murderers row of Justin, Chandler, Poirier and Ferguson but miraculously he happened to be “off” the night he fought someone you dislike. Get over it.

Benny wasn't having his way with him. He was on gop, but very reactive. Even most of his gnp was missing. Dariush actually seemed to he gassing just from dealing with oliveira's guard. Oliveira wss vool as a cucumber and got back up from beneath one of the best grapplers in the division, same way he got up from islam.

Also, notice oliveira threw zero flying shit last night and also threw several high kicks to keep the south paws power hand honest.

He pretty much admitted that it wasn't him and all he wanted was a break. Dariush in an interview said he heard charles was injured in that islam fight. I don't know if I believe that stuff, but it's been said and who knows what these guys are dealing with on fight night

If there was anything to the injury rumour it would’ve leaked long ago. Just another excuse.

Why would dariush make that excuse for him though? Oliveira had never made such a claim. I'm just saying what dariush said on an interview with bisping. Believe what you want lol.
 
I like Olives as much as the next guy. Humble guy that always come to fight, I’m a fan. But I think some are such big fans they really want to overlook the clear holes in his game.

He’s got dropped in 4/5 fights and relied on his grappling threat to bail him out. When he does not have that to fall back on, he gets in trouble like he did against Islam. Now he’s a dangerous man and capable of catching anybody, but he didn’t lose that fight because something was wrong. It was the same issues he had his entire title run but his contingency plan wasn’t in play with this opponent.

All of that said, I’ll be very happy for him if he gets it done. But Islam is always a hard fight for him.

I’m saying whoever Dariush heard it from was just coping, probably an Oliveira camp member or friend. Every fighter has nagging minor injuries in practically every fight, I’m sure islam had some too. A legit injury would’ve leaked long ago through the grapevine imo.

There is a lot going on in Abu Dhabi. It is not even the scales and towel gates, IVs or other kind of lack of athletic commission shit.
The worst thing what I have heard is, fighters who fight against Khabibs team get death threats from fans. I know other fighters have gotten something similar after talking trash somewhere else, but in this case there was no trash talk. I don’t want to know what they messaged to Charles and his family. His daughters IG was full of comments from toxic Islam fans at that time.
These kind of things should just not happen, nowhere.

Could be. I just shared it as food for thought because many people thought charles looked strange even before the fight, like the person I replied to. No need to believe it.

The death threats are a social media thing, it has nothing to do with Abu Dhabi. People are hating on Abu Dhabi because they’re butt hurt that the Dagis have a home arena advantage there. If you look at it critically there’s a few questionable incidents that are bound to happen in any location that consistently hosts fight cards. Vegas and the Nevada commission are literally the kings of shadiness, but nobody cares.

Did I once say he was "off" or make excuses for him? Maybe you replied to the wrong person but keep your autistic freakouts in check or have your handler change your diaper, sweetie.

I referred to both as high level fighters and said that a rematch could easily go differently accordingly. Islam has 1 top 10 win at LW and gassed horribly in his last fight so it is fair to say he still is not a "world beater" and has some question marks. Beating Charles doesn't mean he magically beat everyone Charles did as well... styles make fights. Sounds like you have a touch of the 'tism pal.

The recency bias about that matchup is hilarious.

Oliveira had the exact same gameplan against Islam as he did against Beneil: super aggressive pressure striking.

It didn't work because Islam's defense was tight, and he countered Oliveira's aggression and hurt him standing.

He might find an opening the second time around, but the notion that loss was some kind of fluke is silly.
