Oleynik vs Werdum please

Oleynik might bet better in 1-2 submissions but Werdum is much better at BJJ overall.

I think Oliynyk has a better chin. So, he’d be my pick. But, as the ranking of the opponent goes up. So does the difficulty in getting the win.

There’s only a cpl guys I’d not bet on Oliynyk to beat for sure, though.

i don't even think he's better at those. i do think he probably squeezes much harder than Werdum does though. the guy lhas the build of a movie villain's henchman.

Werdum would dominate him on the floor, top or bottom.

Oleinik could land a hail mary KO though.

Oleynik would strangle Werdum, but his standup is terrible for a guy with so many fights ,he really does look stiff in that departament

Older guys standup gets worse not better 4 or 5 years ago he was alot better.

I'd love to see their ground styles clash...

Hard to say. Oleynik has won 44 times by submission and his methods are incredibly diverse. Here are the different subs he has won by.

Ezekial Choke
Neck Crank
Arm Triangle Choke
Rear Naked Choke
Triangle Choke
Armbar
Heel Hook
Guillotine Choke
Inverted Armbar
Scarf Choke

I'd like to see this one as a 5 round fight. Not because Olenyik is known for a great gas tank but simply because Werdum could probably not ride it out with a safe lay n' pray ground game strategy over a whole 25 minutes without being threatened by the Boa Constrictor

Anyone other than Roger Gracie subbing Werdum seems pretty unlikely.

Why don't we see more Ezekiel chokes from bottom? Seems like a good move.

It requires long ape-like arms, strength and confidence to pull. Few guys at hw are willing to let opponent get to top position.

Guys who unintentionally end up on bottom may as well try it rather than stalling.

agreed, Oleynik is crazy unorthodox but Werdum is just too technical/on a different level

He's sort of a brawler/Mike Perry version of a grappler

Easy low risk fight for Werdum IMO

I dont think many hws have the arms to pull it off. Usually the move requires a GI but Oleynik has insanely long and powerful arms so he manages to do it (grappling for over 20 years will do it...)

This isn't a very intriguing fight to me. Pretty confident Werdum can defend against a gi'less Ezekiel choke, making his fight to win pretty much anywhere he chooses.
