Old man got scammed

Some people are really fucking stupid and they take everything at face value without even trying to consider it being a scam or fake lol. Especially with AI now, people can make videos of them pretending to be any celebrity or famous person, then message some random person and be like, "Hey! I'm giving away money to my fans, give me your bank account info and I'll wire you some," and see who falls for it. Happened here in Portland with some Youtube guy who makes custom tables, someone used AI to pretend to be him and scammed a woman out of like, $30k.

One time in like 2020, I met a guy in a remote area lot to sell a set of super swampers. He pulled a knife on me. My buddy was in the truck and he got out with one of our shotguns and the guy left.

I’ve always been really weary about selling stuff since then. In retrospect, the dude obviously had a burner fb and was a dirt sack but still. If we weren’t bird hunting that day, I would have gotten robbed. I called the cops and made a statement and they never did anything. Seems crime is legal now. You have to be really careful online.

That being said, I sold an engine to a dude who paid me then ghosted me. It was 3 months before he got back to me. I messaged him and offered delivery because I was heading his way and he still never messaged back. Then out of the blue he did, came and got it. No clue what was going on but he could have got ripped off badly.

Some people make stupid decisions when they're desperate.

I did.

I fell for an HMRC tax rebate scam when I was moving over a decade ago. I got a text with a link, clicked it to go to a website that looked convincing and put my bank details through it.

I was moving home shortly and I wasn't making good money at the time, so I was financially gutted and stressed to hell.

I did receive a legitimate refund of about £300 during my first job before that, through a letter, so I checked online to see if I had fallen for a scam, then phoned my bank, told them about it and I didn't lose anything in the end.

I also don't blame the elderly at all. Younger people have zero idea about how they grew up and just how far behind on certain things they are because of how time has passed. Basic things in the modern era can be baffling and frightening to them.

Some guy was banging at my door for 10 minutes, I ignored it for awhile cause I was playing battlefield but eventually got annoyed amd went to the door.

It's some old Asian guy who said he bought a TV off Facebook marketplace amd he was here to pick it up. I told him Im not selling any TVs and he showed me the messages

He paid for the TV sending some random stranger the money without even seeing the TV. The he drove an hour and a half from Toronto to pick it up from my house. Only problem is they stole his money and gave him a fake address

I told him he got scammed and he was clearly upset but how can you be so dumb. Never pay upfront to someone you don't know and a product u never seen.

I couldn't even feel bad for him cause he was so dumb
Now you have the cash to pay for all the DLC's that will come out and the old man learned a lesson to not just trust any old cunt on the internet. Your scam has taught him a valuable lesson.

It feels like he started off writing some erotica but never got past the set up.
JosephJosephJosephJunior creamed his slacks just as the action was about to get good, then left the rest of us out to dry. he has no respect for anyone’s nut but his own. hate to see it.
