Ok is it just me or is everybody lying

I started watching at UFC 79. Never claimed anything else.

Why is it that everybody has been watching since UFC 1 but it only had 50,000 buys? like are the PPV numbers reported wrong or did UFC have some massive VHS sales or what? the only time i saw the first 4 is when it came out on a DVD set and i only started watching by UFC 37.5.

Well back then if you had a cable box and you was lucky to have ppv, hbo, show time filter to plug into your cable box you got it for free like I did :D

Main reason I got watch ufc 1 is because my dad hated fake wrestling. He told me do want watch real no rule fighting. Of course I said yes, then I watch Gracie skinny ass beat up heavy weights. My mind was blown and so was my dads when Gracie won.

But my point was they should of got lot more ppv sells but hey when cable guy hooks you up with free filters you get it for free lol

Its like the Mayflower ...

If you started watching at UFC 37.5, you're a more experienced fan than most people. I started at season 3 of TUF with Shamrock and Ortiz, and was casual up until a year ago.

TUF Noob! LOL. JK. :icon_twis This is the first I've seen anyone admit to watching this recent.

I watched it on a blackbox. You might be to young too know what that is.

I can't really remember what channel ppv was on? Was it like 77 or 99 don't forget after 1 am fake playboy porn would come on lol damn skinamax

ppl been stealing cable since UFC 1

or at least I have, or illegal dls, one or the other

Once upon a time, there was this mystical black box, and it contained magical powers. This mystical box contained the powers to allow anyone who possessed one, watch any channel that cable offered even the most expensive ones, such as pay per view. I for one mostly used it for WWE back in the day, but was fortunate enough to catch it at a friends.

Oh what powers this box had.

People act like piracy is something new.

Been happening since day one.

I remember renting the old vhs tapes they kept tucked away at the local video store, that I would watch on ppv because my cousins neighbor had a black box. Just like everyone else. When the first fight started I was immediately hooked!

I honestly started watching mma with ufc 2 but it wasn't live obviously. I stopped following mma by ufc 10 or so (they stopped showing ufc events where i lived at that time ).
When I came to the states i got hooked again with the first season of tuf. I still remembered Royce, Tank, Ken, Oleg, Ruas, Keith Hackney, Severn. But I didnt know a thing about Couture, Liddell, Vitor, Tito, Hughes, etc. I just had to catch up and learn about what went down while i wasnt following mma during those 8-10 years. Then i learned about the existence of Pride, Shooto, Pancrase, etc.

I can't imagine anyone watching that event and not becoming a fan.

Yeah, it was pretty great. I was hooked quickly, and started getting the old cards to watch chronologically. I think people who were already into the sport got more out of it though. Just knowing who Wanderlei, Chuck, GSP and Hughes were would have helped me put it into context. Still great fights.
