Official Women's Division Discussion #27

Sherdoggers love to mock Cindy Dandois... but will Kaitlin Young beat her?

Dandois vs. Young is such a low skill fight that I think either off them has a really good chance. Honestly I think PFL fucked up making this the first card they air on proper ESPN. Women's LW just seems like a "Give Kayla a bunch of bodies" division.

If she was really out of it by the time she exited the cage why wouldn’t they put her on a stretcher or something proper? Considering she really was hurt and got concussed, shouldn't you be protecting her neck? Being carried like was very strange.

That's the strangest part for me too. If she's that bad where's the stretcher/wheelchair a doctor would recommend? So did she just want to be carried out like a baby while being cleared to walk?

Any of you guys bet on WMMA?
How about trading ideas?I am not a big expert like you but on the PFL card I see a parlay that pays poorly for Harrison and Pacheco to win.
A smaller wager on Kayla and Pacheco to win by finish at better odds.
What say you?
That said Julija is my girl, doesnt anyone give her a chance?

Kayla is a much of a lock for r1 finish as there is in combat sports here. I'd favor Pacheco to get a finish probably in 1 too but it's risky.
What kind of chance to last a round? Sure, Win vs Pacheco? No, win her next match vs one of the other bottom picks? Very possible.

That's what also bugs my head. Honestly, i think Pederneiras opted to carry her to add "drama" to all the thing.
Take "Reug Reug" at the same week (im not saying someone should carry him lol). He was carried in a stretcher (fake or not). The natural procedure is being carried in a stretcher...

Eveything is pretty odd tbh.

What...? Dandois can submit a bitch on any given day if she's able to grab a limb. Young has nice striking not just for lightweight, but in general. Neither of them is a world beater, but they're not low level by any means.

I think it's a 50/50 fight. I could see Dandois winning by submission late during the fight, but I could also see Young keeping the fight standing and winning a decision. Either way, I hate that they're fighting each other already, but on paper it makes sense (striker vs grappler, both veterans of the sport, both moving up a weight class).

I was just wondering today what had happened to Aldana, as she was super active in 2019, and it's been a while since her foot injury. I don't like this fight, cause I want both of them to win. However, I think Yana wins by using her clinch work and a wrestling heavy game plan. Should set her up for a title eliminator against GDR or Holm in the future.

First thing I thought: no opponent named. When it comes to Serrano, with how she’s behaved towards mma in the past, along with some of her behavior WRT to home sport of boxing, I’ll believe this is happening when it actually happens.

In what way has she behaved towards mma? Not being argumentative here, would genuinely like to know?

I am not speaking for him but I think she just uses WMMA to get more popular in boxing. Since WMMA is more popular she tries to get her name out there and increase her stardom in boxing. I was interested in seeing how she would turnout but since I noticed what she was doing I no longer cared.

You don't think Young can get a ko/tko? But yeah feels 50/50 whoever controls where the fight is wins. I hate the match 2 of the best fighters pfl has and one has to take an L and not even main card, while Fabian vs Sanchez and Olena vs gurdado get these easy matchups. I'd understand if they made one fight Kayla out the gate to elevate her since last year they missed out on Kaufman vs Kayla showdown.

I also like yana chances but Aldana might show up with crisp boxing and footwork and take it.

I can't hate her for that women's boxing is the most ignored sport anything she can do to get exposure is fair game.

It wouldn't be so bad if she was just using it to get exposure. She's also used it in her boxing negotiations, including her ducking of Katie Taylor, a fight she asked for.

Well, do you mind elaborating why you give her a chance? Besides her reach advantage of course. She simply doesn't have the same amount of experience as Pacheco, so it's a little easy to overlook her. From what I've seen, she's got submission wins and her hands looked good in her fight against that man, but I'm still taking Pacheco because she's improved and has the experience of fighting high caliber opponents on her side (Jessica Andrade, Irene Aldana, Germaine De Randamie, Sarah Kaufman, Kayla Harrison).
I didnt say I give her a chance,I was just wondering what you guys think.I am not that knowlegeable regarding them.

I do however support my eastern european sister Julija and hope she puts on a good show. She looks in shape from what I've seen but her level of training is questionable as is her ground game.
I am pretty sure Pacheco is light years better than that geezer Julija beat up in Germany.

Never bet irl but I recently started making picks on tapology. It's a fun way to pass the time.

Hasnt she fought MMA before?
