This is the fight I’m honestly looking forward to the most this weekend. Yes, Torres Hill 2 will be fun. Yes, Karolina vs Pemme tugs at the heart strings. However, those four have been around strawweight for a while now. This LUX strawweight tournament final and inaugural championship is about the future of the division. Also, the counter boxing of Tani Torres is delightful to watch.

Tecia Torres vs. Angela Hill
Hill came up short on split decisions & most recently scored a unanimous decision over Ashely Yoder. Always willing to take fights and scrap. After losing to a murderers row in the division Torres got some better matchups, decisively beating Brianna Van Buren and Sam Hughes. She's experienced and as jack says, jacked.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs. Jessica Penne
Karolina took a break after suffering an eye injury. Look forward to seeing her back.

Victoria Leonardo vs. Melissa Gatto
This should be sloppy.

Say what you will about Pena but she not afraid to promote herself. Amanda clearly scared of her one bad matchup

I like the new way I handle fights. I see the announcements then totally forget about them until fight week. Its like opening a gift twice and being happy each time. If the fight get cancelled it wont hurt me none because I did not even remember it existed. It's Tecia and Karolina fight week! What a surprise.

Frequenters of the heavies (you have my sympathy) will probably be familiar with the anti-conman troll 'Hitto' whose use of the below avatar of top Durkastani wrestler Sadulaev became so ubiquitous that Shertards tend to think of Hitto first and foremost in connection with him...
...that portrait was part of a series of closeups commissioned of competitors at the 2017 world championships, I thought most of the portraits were unaesthetic and didn't really 'show' much, but there was one which stood out, of Turkish wrestler Hafize Sahin...
Unfortunately Hafize went on to suffer a career-ending injury in the bronze medal match (shortly after I got in my seat). It's a cruel world!
anyway since tomorrow's final is a rerun of the 'Hitto vs Snyder super mega match' from 2017 again it reminded me I intended to post 'femme Hitto' somewhere sometime, so it might as well be here and now.
and the actual headline event is the world's most dangerous woman, who the not only carried out the host's flag at the beginning, but the tourny was arranged so she'd be in the very final match, of the very final day of the Olympics, as is only right...

I'm taking Hill to suffer another of her customary controversial points defeats.
In my head Penne is a dangerous grappler who will likely submit Karolina ...... none of this is probably true however, so who knows where either is at, at this stage of their careers.
I thought Gatto looked tricky and surprisingly strong against Karol Rosa so I'm taking her to beat Leonardo, who might have a better chance if she gets her hair fixed properly this time.

LUX Fight League 15 over on Fight Pass just had a serious FOTY contender in Saray Orozco vs Tani Torres. Gonna be tough to beat. Both ladies gave it their all. We also had a Mazagatti “let her be a warrior” moment in the 2nd, that really paid off.

Yeah, Orozco nearly had Torres put away late in round 2. Torres scrapped hard getting back into and ahead in the rest of the fight.

KK vs Penne
I love KK but that fight was lost due to low fight IQ. The second she chose to jump into Pennes guard the fight was over. She pulled a Randa vs Dern. Why would you chose to fight where your opponent is at her best.

Tecia's speed and foot movement outclassed Hill, who had little for her. Not to take anything away from Torres but Hill seemed listless tonight.
Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs. Jessica Penne
Terrible mistake by Karolina electing to go to the ground. Penne got the submission. KK didn't look good on her return after the long layoff.
Victoria Leonardo vs. Melissa Gatto
Gatto outclassed Leonardo in every phase. Got the tko by doctor stoppage after round 2. Leonardo broke her arm. Gatto impressed me. Leonardo, though she's tough, did not.
