I totally understand your point but i strongly disagree, yes entertainment is a big part of this business but it's a sport at the end of the day, to some fighters the ultimate goal is to win and to get that belt, you can't expect everyone to be exciting in the process and you really can't punish people (cutting them from the roster) for not doing what would, more likely, get them to lose just to provide exciting moments for fans.Well the UFC can't change the scoring system but they can decide who to cut. Perhaps they should dump one of these risk averse fighters straight after a win just to send out a message.
Maybe remove the win-bonus part of their contract so they can fight without so much pressure and get paid "well" win or lose, but fighters like Budd and Taylor have a effective style to some extent and this is part of the game. In order to keep it a legitimate sport, that's something you have to afford.
I'm not a fan of these 2, actually their style is a big reason to why i want to watch them fight again and lose, like the Mayweather thing, the problem is if they get a opponent that doesn't really offer them many risks like Blencowe. Them i'm not that interested, against Talita Nogueira on the other hand will be a very interesting match and i'm looking forward to. I could end up being disappointed, ofc.
