Official Women's Division Discussion #25

Zingano vs. Vieira would be a good fight, especially considering the bantamweight division is short on contenders. Cat might get herself a title shot with a dominant win here, but then again Pennington could be back in time to claim that fight. Either way I can see the winner of this fight being thrown into the title mix so I'd be very excited if this happens.

I was sort of hoping that Zingano would come back at 145, but it seems like the UFC is doing everything they can not to build 145 aside from giving Cyborg her sacrifice.

Hard to build a division when there isn't enough quality or fighters.

I hear that, especially when Bellator has the majority of the fighters. I would appreciate a little effort though. Since the division has been announced they've only got one actual featherweight, which is Cyborg. Who even knows what's going on with Anderson right now.

oh how i will larf if holm does a rousey on cyroid <36>

King Reina vs. Cindy Dandois and Shinju Auclair-Chelsea LaGrasse rematch set for Rizin

Dandois is a dangerous fight for the KING.

Not familiar with LaGrasse. She holds an ammy DQ win over JuJu.

IIRC LaGrasse was getting her shit pushed in before the DQ. Shinju should win that.

Charmaine Tweet in your 2nd fight is a tall order, especially with 2 years off.

Fabian fought twice last year (against Steph Glew & Helena Jurisic; two other giant women), just nobody keeps kickboxing records. Tweet is the one who hasn't fought under this ruleset in years.

-----------------------------

Good to see King Reina fight somebody her own size. Rizin gonna turn her brains to mush, before she even develops a veteran type game.

That's correct. Auclair was dominating the fight and got DQed for throwing a Head Kick which is apparently illegal in Ohio Amateur MMA. Auclair has wanted this rematch because Lagrasse was bragging about being undefeated. It's probably a bit early for Lagrasse to go pro tbh because Juju is the only opponent shes faced with previous MMA experience.

Wait, so this is a kickboxing match? Didn't know that.

Google Translated:

It's official! Return to the octagon on the first card of 2018. On January 14 at #stlouismissouri. Initially it was programmed to face Bethe Correia but due to an injury our commitment was canceled. Now I will be competing against Talita Bernardo. I am very happy and motivated to go for my first victory in the UFC. I know that the previous results did not go as I would like. But as an athlete I want to share with you that although sometimes things do not go well ... it is not a reason to give up and that with hard work and perseverance there is much to achieve. Thanks to the people who support me in good times and bad. # ufc #fightnight #mexico #brasil #bantamweight

Like i said they should do:

That's a great fight, a chance of Ketlen getting a win over a big name and get more experience and also a chance of Zingano becoming a contender again.

Anyone have any clue what happened with Jessica Penne and her failed USADA test? We usually get an update later saying if the fighter intends to fight it or how long they are suspended for. After the statement saying she failed a test we have heard nothing else about it. I wonder when her suspension is up because her grappling style is fun to watch. She is a terrible striker her long legs and flexibility allows her to do some crazy stuff on the ground.

According to the UG she is still under suspension, but you got to think it will be over soon since it wasn't a drug detected but her blood chemical levels were off. I suspect she will be back in Feb. if they did a 9 month suspension.

Bellator kickboxing champ Denise Kielholtz gets her first MMA win in impressive fashion in Israel by submission. Maybe a force in the flyweight division

What the ass, 120lbs? Did she even try?

/go Astrogirl!!
