Getting off of endless speculation and onto actual relevant business, the rematch between Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Emily Ducote for the inaugural Bellator MMA women's flyweight title is this Friday.

Here is Jimmy Smith discussing what to watch:

For anyone who hasn't watched the first fight:

Great fight tonight.

Who y'all got for UFC 217? I'm rooting for Namajunas to pull off the upset mainly because I've not been impressed with Jedrzejczyk's antics during face offs but I feel like Joanna's gonna take it. Would be nice to see a new champ though, it'd open doors to the former contenders to come back into the mix, then again if Joanna wins then we could see new fighters challenge like Tecia or Felice so I'm not quite sure on that. Just rooting for Rose to win in the end I guess!

Also rooting for Macfarlane to become the first Bellator Women's Flyweight Champ!

ETA: I'm also not surprised that ONE put Torres and Miao on the same card, I feel like if they win they'll most likely fight each other for the next title shot.

She had that arm-bar locked in tight as hell.

Color me slightly disappointed. Was hoping Jeong Eun Park would fight at Road FC 45 on Dec 23. She just shared a post on Facebook from Shigeru Saeki, announcing Park vs Mina Kurobe at Deep 81 Impact on, you guessed it, Dec 23rd. Couldn't tell from the translation if it is for the title.

Call me a cynic, but to me, this reeks of "Our Japanese champion just lost to their Korean champ, so now we will bring over one of their prospects to lose to our champion. Japanese honor will be restored."*

Said in bad voice dubbing.

Deep 81 Impact:
105lbs: Jung Eun Park (3-2-1 Korea) vs. Mina Kurobe (10-3 Japan)

JJ. Hope Rose can pull out a victory and / or at least look great. Considering JJ's speed, footwork & work rate though she's the pick.

Macfarlane. Watched her previous fight with Ducote. They both threw good uppercuts & I noticed that as the fight wore on Macfarlane used her size advantage to her benefit. Good wrester vs. jiu jitsu matchup & I seeing it playing out similar to their first fight.

Macfarlane's size definitely plays a factor. Ducote seems like a strawweight to me

Agreed. There is another Lobo Gym export I'd like to see as well. Name escapes me right now.

you may be thinking of Paulina Vargas she is 2-0 but she is 28yrs old she should fighting as much as possible trying to build up her record

I thought Macfarlane looked great. Some quickness on those hands and good finish.

I'm not usually one for saying a fighter looks shook but Rose genuinely seems terrified. I think she's gonna get really fucked up.

I knew that Emily Ducote was good as screwed do
to the fact that she went in to the 5th round down
4 rounds to none needing a finish that wasn't going
to happen do to Ilima-Lei Macfarlane actually being
smart about not getting hit a lot while Emily got hit
more then a few times.
