Official Women's Division Discussion #25

Pseudo analysis based on the weigh-ins.

Cat went full angry. Stuck her fist in Megan's face like Grandpa Simpson shaking at the sky. Followed by the Hold Me Back! Her teammate grabbed her waist to 'prevent a riot.' Megan smiled like 'Is it raining down there?'
Megan by decision.

Cyborg had the cool badass war paint around her eyes. Amanda dressed relaxed like she's doing light training. Sweats, baseball cap, noise-cancelling headphones. They respectfully shook hands. Key point - Amanda offered the handshake. Obviously sizing her up for grappling.
Amanda via submission.

Rizin will be having the Hesei card available for free for those who purchase the main Rizin love stream, but it will be tape delayed until after the live stream.

Megan over Cat. Watched Zingano's last couple fights and her durability is looking shaky. With the way she tends to block with her face, I think she's going to walk into something and get finished.

Name one good fighter finished by Megan? Zingano maybe looks bad lately, but she never lose her heart and gives up in a fight. Cat is going to ragdoll Megan easily.

I hope Cat's eye injury isn't too serious and she doesn't end up with any long term effects, but yeah, I told you so.
She walked face first into the kick with her hands down. If it wasn't the eye there's a good chance she'd still get knocked loopy.

Sucks for Cat but if she wasn't moving away that would have landed flush. Hope her eye is okay.

Unfortunate, but Megan did throw a legal strike, of which Cat didn't attempt to avoid. I don't understand people saying it should be a no contest. It is still legal if someone gets punched in the eye. This should be seen as closer to that than an eye poke.

Same as Randy vs Vitor 1, unfortunately.

Holy fuck.

I was rooting for cyborg, but can't wait to see the reaction of crazy cyborg fans on Twitter

I gotta say I didn't see that coming. Cyborg started fighting recklessly after she got stunned. I'd like to see a rematch tbh.
It's unfortunate that now Cyborg haters will have a field day.

Cyborg seemed to hurt Amanda at first. I think it's a situation where they both are pretty equal in skill and power so it's almost a coin toss.

You do not stand and bang with 1st round Nunes. I thought Cyborg would fight much more patiently than she did and give Nunes more respect, but she went back to her old brawling style and got wrecked. Nice work by Amanda on keeping composure after she got hit, then picking her shots and landing them with pinpoint accuracy. That low kick was vicious, spun Cyborg way off balance and opened up for the punch combos.

I also find it hilarious that Cyborg got finished faster than all of Amanda's 135 opponents except Ronda. 145 is a dogshit division confirmed.

Amanda Nunes is now my WMMA goat. This win puts her over Joanna for me. She beat Miesha, Ronda and Cyborg in 1 round. No way can I deny her GOAT status anymore. On another note, how good does this make Valentina look? She could arguably won both fights vs Nunes and she was much smaller. Its nights like these that reminds me why I love WMMA.
