Just watched pretty much everyone of Mr. Finland's fights. My biggest takeaway is that he has absolutely no striking whatsoever. He rarely even throws strikes in his fights, and pretty much is just shooting for TD's while he's on his feet. His striking defense also looks pretty poor, as he keeps his hands extremely low. If he can't get his opponent to the ground, he has no backup plan and will just continue shooting, or start pulling guard and fishing for leg locks. His top game on the ground is excellent, and his subs are very slick. He also seems to have a somewhat questionable gas tank, as he was putting his hands on his knees in the middle of the round in his fight against Ward.

Fullen will have a HUGE advantage on the feet in this fight. He looked good stuffing takedowns in his octagon debut against Torres, and if he can stuff a few of Makwan's he can definitely take this fight. Makwan is rightfully the favorite in this one, but he is for sure overpriced. I'd cap him around -140 or so, so IMO there is pretty good value on Fullen.

Play: .8u Fullen at +175

Luke Thomas' Predictions:

What: Bellator 138: Kimbo vs. Shamrock

Where: Scottrade Center, St. Louis, MO.

When: Friday, the preliminary card starts at 7 p.m. ET on MMA Fighting. The five-fight main card starts on Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET.

Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock

Every pro fighter I've talked to here in St. Louis thinks it's a foregone conclusion Slice will win. They'll admit Slice isn't exactly in world-beater shape, but that Shamrock is doing far worse. And maybe they're right. I'm sure they are, but there is something nagging me about Slice during this week. He's been gracious with his time for media, but didn't work out on Wednesday, seems to move rather gingerly and weighed in with a tank top on. He doesn't seem to have the same hulking physique he once did. I have no idea what to make of Shamrock or his seeming transformation. I haven't seem him execute a single level change once in training footage or during this week's workouts.

The point is this. There are a ton of unknowns, but from what I'm hearing and seeing, I get the sense Slice is living on reputation as much as Shamrock. In other words, Slice is getting the benefit of the doubt while Shamrock isn't. Maybe that's deserved, but that wouldn't make it accurate.

Then again, maybe Slice knocks him out in 15 seconds. Who honestly knows with these two?

Pick: Shamrock

Arnold Allen is a southpaw according to Fightmetric... that's a red flag for Omer, had no time preparing for that. But the 0 days notice for Allen is bad.

Thanks for that info.

I'm not really familiar with either fighter but does Omer rely on his Jab or lead leg takedowns?

I think that's the biggest difference when fighting the opposite stance. You jab is practically useless and straights/ crosses are much more effective.

The south paw usually has the advantage because they're used to sparring Orthodox fighters.

I might've hit my low as a degen, I bet on Ken Shamrock. Yeah I said it. Dive for the legs, Ken! DIVE FOR THE LEGS!

Anyone know if they'll give us props for the Chandler fight later? No props at all yet that I can see. Also is Chandler/Campos gonna be on tv?

Only on Kawajiri for tomorrow, been really lazy about this card. If I feel like it I'll try to do some last minute studying and make more plays but I'll probably just get drunk and watch two old bums fight in a cage. This shit should be hilarious, in a pathetic kind of way.

i'm not so sure. bellator is that dumb. one of the "main card" fights might not end up on tv. (tho i guess it PROBABLY will, with kimbo-shamrock being quick? tho i think weichel-freire might go all 5

as far as props go, they could come up VERY late, hard to know

Good point

Urgh ... You guys are swaying me. Can Ken just come out and blast a take-down without resistance? Is it fair to say he can't keep it competitive on the feet?

Hrmm... Just seeing that Kimbo lost his first and only ammy fight. He was knocked out in 24 seconds. Can the bareknuckle brawler have chin issues (I haven't seen the fight, I don't know the circumstances by which he was knocked out)?? .. What I do know was that his opponent has only 1 other knockout to his name, has been knocked out himself 17 times, and holds a professional record of 12-57..

Edit: The fight was a decade ago in 2005. It was both of their first ammy fights.

Is there anyway i can watch the bellator event in Sweden?

Against 41 year old Kimbo with no skills and worse knees.

Even Kimbo with shot knees should dust Ken and his nonexisant chin. Kimbo's hands have always been better than Ken's and if Kimbo lands ANYTHING it's probably over. Kimbo is bad' Ken is far worse at tjis point.
