Listening to the Nick Hein interview - he quit his job as a police sergeant to train full-time for 2 months at Tiger Muay Thai.

He still does a TV show.

To add to that, he has done a series of vidoes at Tiger and Tiger has had a lot of UFC guys there lately. He has improved his cardio and striking and I expect him to put in a really strong performance.

good to know! tyy

Anyone have a lead on Alan Patrick vs Mairbek Taisumov?

I'm favoring Taisumov and I really like his technique and I'm excited to watch him compete. Alan Patrick on the other hand, I have no desire to see. He'll try to hug and contain Mairbek like its worked for Prazeres. Patrick is undefeated so he'll get a bit of respect by oddsmakers. Taisumov might be the but I wonder where it will land?

If I get Taisumov anywhere in the -100s, I won't blink on betting his price. Then I will hedge with Patrick by decision later on in the week.

Im on Taisumov. Patrick has a padded record and he was gifted a decision win against Makdessi IIRC. most people ITT thought Mak won the fight

where the fuck is that shoop the cain thread? Shit was hilarious

Yeah that fight was in Brazil I believe but he won't be getting that treatment halfway across the globe for him. I might be kidding about that hedge I might just let it ride. I think Mairbek just needs some cage experience and learn some tricks of the trades on how to win at a higher level. I think his skills are already there and has a pretty high ceiling.

He can't let Alan Patrick clinch though. It was an ugly loss by Prazeres and Patrick has the size (looks like a WW where does he cut from?) and BJJ to follow suit. I recall he trains with other black belts like Jacare.

I really hope there are playable odds and not juiced the fuck out. Because I'm not sure what prop I'll pick on Mairbek if there's too much juice.

EDIT:

Looking at Mairbek's odds history via bfo.com
-315, -320, -215, -1050. We're screwed iGnP

i thought it was in Brazil too (only makes sense, right?) but it was actually UFC 169 in NJ. Regardless though, this is how sherdog scored it:

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/UF...Play-Updates-62987#john-makdessi-alan-patrick

I like Taisumov, as well. His fight against Prazeres was a bit weird bc he was deducted 2 points for grabbing the fence. That was the fight where we're not sure if he actually understood that he's not allowed to grab the fence bc he doesn't speak English. But he's gotten more experience since that point and has finished 2 fights impressively since that loss (albeit, not great competition).

EDIT: Taisumov hits hard. If the ML is too juiced im just gonna go with him by TKO

Anyone got any baseball picks for today?

I'm keeping my MLB super small right now. I've been killing it with MMA and even doing well with the NBA finals but I'm basically even so far through the baseball season. Just can't get any traction.

MLB and NHL 06/15

MLB

Tor +105 vs NYM

Line is up to Tor +112 so there's $ coming in on the Mets but I'm gonna ride the red hot Jays. Buehrle and Syndergaard, the two starters tonight, have both been shaky lately but Toronto has the better lineup and they are on fire winning 11 in a row. Have to play them until they lose 1, they've basically kept me in positive territory over the last week since (along with Onewarrior) I've bet them on 6-7 of those 11 wins.

Parlay Hou (-195) + SEA/SF over 7 (-130) (paying +168)

Pitching mismatch for the 'Stros, as Keuchel is just way better than Bettis. Neither Walker nor Hudson have been terrific for Sea/SF so at least one of them should give up some early runs. I like the over 7 there.

NHL

Gonna play the Lightning small. At +155 I feel there's at least a little value since every game has been very competitive.

BOL

RE: Taisumov/Patrick

Good luck getting Taisumov near evens... Kalikas sucks russian dick everyday. He opens 90% of russian fighters with steep odds, much higher than they should be.

As for the fight, i think it might be close if it goes the distance..... which it should as Patrick has shown to be very durable. Taisumov has power, but he has more of a technical approach (at least as of late). Patrick has longer reach, decent jab, so he can make things close. Neither guy throw bombs. Wrestling/grappling is also very close.

The Makdessi fight was very close one. Patrick got two takedowns, looked more relaxed. Yeah, i know Makdess landed more (60 to 40) but Patrick was never in danger. Rogan made it look like Makdessi was in full control, which was far from reality.

Patrick can absolutely steal a decision in Berlin (neutral territory), he's not as technical as Taisumov, but he's smarter. In fact, Taisumov can have mental lapses.

Blackhawks vs. Lightning game 6 bets

I plan to live bet the total goals. If they score in the first period, I'll bet the Under. If they don't score in the first period, I'll just let my original bet ride and not touch the u4.5 or u4 goals via live betting.

Chicago -143 series price (1u)
Chicago +155 series price (1u)
Total u5 +110 (.5u)
Period with more goals 1 vs. 3: 3rd Period -130 (.5u)
Patrick Sharp has more goals + assists than Nikita Kucherov -115 (.5u)
Alex Killorn o2 shots on goal -135 (1u)

NHL prop:
Feel like theres been way too much other sport spoiler betting going on in these threads recently so I apologize, but hey there could be only 1 game left in both the NHL/NBA. These threads should get back to pure MMA in short order.

If you have Bovada/Bodog. I reccomend throwing a couple $$ on Filppula to score first at +2500. For my money hes been one of, if not the best forwards in this series so far. Stamkos and Johnson have been nearly invisible, and while he's been more effective setting players up, the value is great for a guy that appears to be one of the few healthy TB skaters. Plus he logs some decent PP minutes. I went and dropped $40 to win $1000 for fun.

Didn't have that option, but took Fillipa to score more pts than Hossa at +140.

Kimbo vs Ken shamrock breakdown itt. What a time to be alive.

Still think shammy lays down if he eats two or three right hands, covers up and let's the ref help him save some face.

i agree with all of this.. i had a strong lean towards Taisumov untill i watched tape.

Prazeres was able to get takedowns and mount at will against Taisumov. since that fight Taisumov fought 2 crappy fighters.. impossible to know if he has improved his tdd enough to stop the td attempts from Patrick.

Jays game tied into the Bot 9th. All thanks to some Joey Bats bombs

Hell yeah, I'm watching it. Man, I'm gonna ride the Jays train while they hot, not even gonna look at pitchers or opponents. Toot toot!:icon_chee

Crazy people are all over Taisumov here. Patrick is long, can kick from the outside, and can no doubt get Taisumov down, as Pazeres did it with absolute ease.

See that sac fly? Nicee

Yeah man. I think we're good. Jays are HUGE dogs tomorrow. But fuck it, we have to play the heater!!!! Go small.

Would like to know Q4 and mkesss thoughts too.
