Official Titanfall Thread

Is this up on xbox live yet? I know xbox live has been down on Xbox one for awhile, my friend was complaining to me all night about it not working LOL.

I haven't had any issues with Live. I played all day yesterday and only saw the server issue once (around 530 pacific time) and got disconnected from one server. Otherwise no server or live issues for me.

I like it a lot. I couldn't get into the beta as much as I had hoped but I'm really having fun with the final product. Better than I thought it would be.

How is the progression system in the game? Like in BF4 you can level up your soldier, weapons, and vehicles. Is Titan Fall just soldier and Mech? Would you say there is more to do than in BF4?

How is the overall experience in general compared to BF4?

As of right now I'm still only at level 6 so I'm not that far into the game but I still like BF4 better. It's just more my style of FPS with the vehicles and all. But as I've said I really like BF4 and Naval Strike might actually take me away from Titanfall for a little while.

As far as I can tell you unlock weapons and attachments for both your pilot and your titan as you level up but it's not as detailed as BF4. There isn't as much to unlock.

This game shines in it's speed and free running (wall running, zip lines, double jumping). Titans are cool too but I don't have anything unlocked for them yet so I kind of get owned in classic mode. It seem like they match you up pretty evenly in campaign mode so I was tearing it up playing that but got owned when I played with Fijeeto in classic.

Pretty much what jersey devil said. Not much to unlock as far as customization. In fact I think the most fun I had with that was in Black Ops. I'm only at level 8 right now, but it's insane that there was a guy already in the 30s in one of the campaign mode last night.

Couldn't sign in until about midnight last night due to that stupid error, but eventually got on. Game is pretty damn fun, but I was only able to play a few rounds. Love the mobility

Played and got to level 5 last night.

It's not perfect but I think it's a lot of fun and IMO very different to play then cod or battlefield.

It doesn't seem to have all the types of roles that a game like battlefield has, but it's a fast paced, fun game that I think is a little more forgiving then cod.

It's fun to play as a pilot and fun to play as a Titan. People said the CPUs are dumb but I kind of like how they send little waves out for each team and you see them both fighting over some area, it lends itself to the idea that you're in a bigger battle and a lot is going on. Would I prefer more real players? Maybe but it can get a little hectic with what's already there, the maps aren't huge and I don't think you'd want 20 mechs all together.

The titans while beastly are also a little hard to use against some of the more experienced Titan players, and you have to be ever wary of pilots hopping on and messing you up.

It seems like it's more suited to someone playing solo online. You don't seem to need as much teamwork or real strategy like in battlefield (or sometimes cod). I know this seems like a negative about the game but it's not. It's just different. It's chaotic in a good way. Obviously if you are a fan of battlefield and need the more defined strategy where everyone has a role and you can run around fixing vehicles or healing then it won't be as fun to play this game. But I enjoy battlefield and I also enjoy titanfall.

The combat is fluid, wall running and jumping makes the game feel fresh and exciting.

For less experienced gamers the CPUs easy kills and the fact that you get a Titan no matter what lends itself to a more enjoyable experience. For more experienced gamers, really mastering the Titan vs Titan battles and so on are harder and more rewarding.

I only tried attrition so I can't speak to the other modes. Id probably enjoy more then 3 titans but they are customizable. I love unlocks and customization in shooters as it prolongs my interest level so the more the better.

Even if this is just a jumping off point for a titanfall 2 next year that's more refined, it would be cool to have another competitor for cod and battlefield.

All in all, pleased I got it. Really fun game so far.

Awesome one thing I'm afraid of is getting the game seeing that BF4 is better and just ignoring it. Espicially since I've really gotten back into BF4 then when I did I got premium which only added to it. On top of that I will need to either upgrade my PC or get a 360 so either way I'm looking at spending 150-200.

From what I heard the 360 version looks very close to the X1 and if that turns out to be true I'll probably go that route.

Well sheeit. Here I was gearing up to buy and X1 for this release, and my wife dropped all the money on a home gym that we bought.
It was a huge purchase and we financed it so we need to have it paid off before a certain deadline to aviod super-gay interest charges, so she did the right thing, but I am kinda bummed.

But I am also hopeful that the 360 community is massive. Does anyone know the pre-order numbers for the 360?

I'm waiting for the 360 version rumors are that it looks very very close to the X1 version. The 360 has 78+ million more users than the X1 I don't see how it doesn't have a larger community. Really doesn't matter though the game is only 6v6 you wont notice the difference between a community of 3 million vs 20 million.

I am still downloading, do you get to keep the level you had in the beta ? Or do you start over ?

It isn't an apples to apples comparison with BF4 just in the general dynamic of the game. The folks who love BF4 but hate MW won't love the game. There are less weapons but the way the weapons work leaves little need for more. The weapons all fire very similar it's just a balance between fire rate and power. It lacks that dynamic of "the right tool for the job" that BF4 has. Any tool will do and the strategy is more in the way you navigate and interact with the environment then weapon choice.

That said there are way less options than BF4. A handful of weapons, attachments and perks none of which make a hugely significant difference. Gameplay is amazing but it is easy to poke holes in the peripherals.

You start over but its pretty easy to lvl up in this game if your decent, I gain about a lvl and a half every match.

The game is a blast but I agree that it definitely seems to need deeper customization into loadouts and game modes.

I see, yeah I level up quite fast to 14 in the beta (max)

BTW, when will be able to benefit from the season pass? do we need to apply it somewhere? I bought it separatedly from the game

I finished Militia campaign last night, tonight will do IMC I guess.

Fijeeto sorry bout last night man, I didn't see your message about CTF until I'd finished the Militia campaign. Definitely down to hit it up tonight though...fuck, will my TB X12s even work with the Xbone?
