Multiplat Official Remnant II Discussion

No one told me the twisted arbalest is this good wtf?

I'm not referring to the bore exploit. It's just a lot of fun. Been using it for goofy boss runs. It's especially good in the Asylum.

Edit: I've finally gotten the grab worked out. I just straight up wait for her to get after it and if I'm not chest to chest with her, I dodge back instead of forward. You can dodge into her swipe but that had mixed results for me. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Literally only the second move in the entire game I dodge backwards for. (Metaphysical Tal Ratha has the inverted splash wave that comes from behind and I can't think of any other move that you'd want to do that with).

But yeah the Arbalest let's me just chuck a shot around a corner to scope for baddies. I keep killing myself right when she's almost dead so I can play with builds but I'm about to run it naked with Arbalest and Neverending Nano-Swarm, or fist fight the bitch. Maybe both. The endless nature of this game is so fuckin fun.
Yeah, Arbalest is super fun but shines in confined areas where every shot can bank; intrinsic Guardian Call mod is actually great too but because the WPN aesthetic is meh, it would be cool to be able to modify it with something else and dress her up a bit. Slayer mutator is my go-to when branding.

Using it with Bandit is really good. You can occasionally get off 3 or 4 shots without reloading. Anywhere indoors, it's a blast. Haven't tested it on N'Erud, but it's probably really good in the dungeons, especially the zombies and bugs. The bosses are all just out in the open though so it would be tougher.

I got grabbed on what would have otherwise been a no-hit on Nightweaver. I should have used the mod more often inside, but I was kind of in the zone and didn't notice the orange glow when she was in other rooms. Much quicker fight too:

Next up, I might give Spore Bloom a shot. It looks really fun.

Very nice, B! I enjoyed Sporebloom in the first game but haven’t touched it in this, sadly.

I use Bandit on my Widowmaker for that same reason – when lucky, free chambering on a bolt-action; great mutator to take to +10.

What amulet are you using in this fight? Hard for me to see. Looks like Death’s Embrace?

I admittedly haven't gone back to this. But once I buy a game I come back to it whenever the itch comes along. Hell, I'm playing Cuphead now and have had it for over a year.

I thought I replied to this, my bad. It's Daredevil's Charm. You get for beating hardcore. It stacks to 30% damage, 12% movement speed, and 20% incoming damage for every piece of armor you remove.

I'm currently working at tank/melee builds that stand up in apocalypse for both mobs and bosses. One of the variations is going to be melee bosses using only knuckle dusters. Tal Ratha, second phase of Nightweaver, Faelin, Ravager all gonna catch hands.

And maybe a video dispelling the myth of "true one-shots". As far as I can tell, the only true one-shot in the game is Nightweaver's wall grab and as long as you don't put your back against the wall when she's not in the room, it won't happen. Venom's one shots? Just tank it. Dullain's tongue shot? Just tank it. All without the use of Summons and the Resonating heart exploit.

Wasn't that long ago that I was bitching about one-shots. Turns out I just had to git gud [at building tanks].

I forgot to post it but I have indeed built a tank capable of fistfighting Apoc bosses.

I also built a passive healing tank for anyone who doesn't want to use Medic, and thus doesn't have unlimited relics:

Edit: I haven't gotten a video of it but I further optimized this build by using Bloodstream trait and Dread Font ring (replacing the Reserve Boosting Gem) to maximize grey health regen, since the Steadfast mod means all damage taken during a charge attack is converted to grey health. The passive healing is nearly twice as fast.

I feel bad for Tal Ratha, he's just the fastest boss to get to.

I'm now working on a Challenger/Invader build that utilizes Reboot for instant heal.

Finally heading back in after completing Blasphemous 2. I was jonesing for a Metroidvania.

Ngl, that heavy sound when enemies are in route haunts me because you know something crazy is about to go down. It is freaky and I love it.

Anyone know what to do here? There’s an area on the map that’s red so I’m assuming this weird orb might transfer you there.

if you get closer you can interact with it, surprise

Everyone uses the same Leto armor lol
They need to add some pronto.

Yeah, it was one of my only complaints I mention above in what I otherwise consider my GOTY. Leto Mk. II amok. Assembling a viable armor rating at higher difficulties is a one-pony show.

I genuinely think it's meant to discourage tanking. The only thing good about it is the armor rating. Massive 75% stamina delay penalty. Slow movement. No roll without using up ring/amulet space or concoctions. It's absolute dogshit unless you're building around being able to take hits. Not as good at taking the shots as Letos, but there are some armor combinations that are good enough to be forgiving for a couple of hits and still allow you to roll and move. I just wish they had a system to change/improve the look of the giant metal dildo.

@Valhoven I built a lightweight tank that's pretty fun and held up to Yaesha mobs.

Obviously you don't need to go melee only but you can have a light roll, tank elite hits, and not be in Letos.

Edit: I didn't fill out the traits. I'd suggest Regrowth, Fortify, Vigor, Siphoner, Bloodstream, Triage, Glutton, and the rest in Barkskin. End up with much higher armor/health.

I used the HP, Armor, Encumbrance, and Stamina Recovery concoctions.

Nice. Running Radiant that I see (didn’t look as cool in From the Ashes!) but what are the gloves? Looking fly. Saw first how many concoctions you’d imbibed and immediately thought Alchemist. Sweet. Mudtooth’s elixir for XP buff became a must-run for me when I wanted to speed up leveling the archetypes; some feel like they take forever.

The gloves are the Labyrinth gloves. They provide the best armor in the game while also having some drip.

The main concoctions to make it work are HP, Armor, and encumbrance. The stamina regen isn't necessary so you could swap it out for anything at all. Or just use the basic formula to put together less of an eye sore than Letos. It won't facetank everything in the game but it'll let you get away with eating a few hits from mobs without having to worry too much. Hell, I smacked a few elites around with it. Plus the light roll just means it's forgiving.
