Multiplat Official Remnant II Discussion

Finished the second area this morning, the labyrinth. The Labyrinth Sentinels was a super cool boss fight. Opened up the other two starter areas to progress.

Looking forward to having them open up in adventure mode so I can farm for other some of the specific gear and traits. Have only unlocked a few traits so far that are pretty meh, so have really been dumping my points into the starter traits mostly.

Wanted to hunt for any missed items in the Labyrinth before moving on to the next area. Really glad I did. There was a portal that shifts around, with some portals dumping you you directly to your death and one that takes you to the boss, and other paths in-between.

Circled back to that and found a few areas I had missed. Ended up finding a Staff, a new Relic, and best of all a crafting item for a handgun called the Enigma. Only had enough scraps to upgrade it to +1, but it's already putting down more DPS than my +8 handgun slot submachine gun. Plus it does electric damage and jumps to any targets in range. Definitely going to pump some mats into this.

Rerolled the my first zone a 3rd time looking for other bosses and materials. Seeing that the zones are scaled to your level so still getting appropriate materials and bosses atay a challenge, which is nice. The scrap demand is getting up there with upgrades.

This, Zaz. Come explore the wastelands.
It’s been tempting and any other year I would have gone for it but I’m going to be more patient with all the stuff coming out this year. Still no date on Helldivers 2 and then there’s also like five or six other games I want this year.

i killed the red king yestarday and fighting this ghost bitch.

Found a cool ring that helps me keep my life topped up after engagements. Lets me heal from sprinting. Not enough to help during a tough fire fight, but after taking some pot shots, it's nice not having to use any consumables.

What's this ring called?

It's like Endarias Endless Loop, or something like that. Found it in Yeshua, but not sure if it's world specific or a random drop.

Another really helpful accessory I just found was the scavengers bauble, also found in Yeshua. Increase scrap by 50%. Scrap is easily the limiting component for upgrades. I'm constantly running low and this has helped big time.

Also, the Enigma handgun is absolutely getting nerfed. This is ridiculous for crowd control. Electric arcs jump around from primary target and it just roasts everything. Have been looking up various weapon tier lists and other forums for this game. This gun is constantly rated in the top weapons and recommend everytime someone asks what are the good guns. In boss battles with an abundance of adds turn into cake walks just electrifying the battlefield. Mixed with the Shock Collar accessory, it adds 20% shock damage and 50% overload, which pulses at the end of the electric status effect. You just rack up the kill count.

You broke the game. Thanks..

I thought Upper Echelon Gaming was done with 'Game Coverage' and switched the focus of his channel to be 'Tech Journalism'... and it appears I was wrong and he's making videos for games he considers worthy of making videos for....

And he just made a 'First Impressions' video for Remnant 2, and mentioned he's going to be making many videos for it.

That's a hell of an endorsement before you hear anything else he has to say about the game.

Is it possible to skip the first game and just play this? Is there continuity?

The 1st game and all its DLC was on sale for $17 and it sold so well they've extended the deal for a few more weeks. So I imagine the community now is better than it ever has been.

I meant continuity in the story

@GearSolidMetal I have the first game, it just seems kinda bad lol I'm still in the tutorial and am already put off having to find NPCs in the base

There is a lot of reference to the first game, but the story really takes a back seat to the gameplay.

Once you get going in the first game though, there are like 4 NPCs you really need to engage with.

Made it to the final area and taking some time to level up some of my weapon mutations. They need Corrupted Lumenite Shards, which are crazy rare and only drop from enraged(red) elite mobs. I've found that if you reroll the Losmon adventure map and look for the starting zone of Morrow Parrish to get to the asylum, it has a guaranteed spawn chainsaw guy as well as a Simulacrum, which are needed for the final weapon upgrades and increasing your Relic uses.

Both rare resources that you need. I can do the run in about 30 min. Each run yielded like 5 shards, 1 simulacrum, and 2-3 trait points counting the ones from the bosses.

You can farm the shards faster doing specific MP zones like Harvesters Research, but the added simulacrum from the Parrish, I think makes it better in the long run.

This game is so much fun, just played for 6 hours straight and the time disappeared.

Took down a couple of bosses with a team of randoms, still trying to get my bearings. Still on the first world.

I've bought simulacrum from a vendor for 1500 scrap, not sure if this was a wise choice but needed to upgrade the estus flask.

Can you get a second archetype? Sure I read this a few days ago, I started as the challenger.
