Where did you see the rumour that Fromsoftware is making the flagship title for the PS6?

Fromsoftware is not known for pushing the technological envelope. I’m sure whatever title they’re working on beyond Duskbloods if it was meant to be on PS6 would no doubt be cross-gen with PS5, and if the PS6 gets delayed to 2028 or 2029 and the game’s ready in 2027 or 2028 then Fromsoftware will just release it for PS5 first with a next gen upgrade to come down the line.
They made the demon souls remake which was exclusive for the ps5 and was one of the first games if I'm not mistaken.

Just a guess but it seems pretty obvious. Think about it. Bloodborne was the flagship for PS4 and the Demon Souls remake for PS5. Fromsoft's games are their golden goose, especially after the success of Elden Ring. We're due for Bloodborne 2 or something in the same vein and Bluepoint didn't get the best reviews on their remake so I doubt they'll be touching another FS game.

Bluepoints Demons Souls Remake sits at 92 on both meta and opencritic. It was loved by nearly everyone.

Enjoyed DSR so much. Heck of a way to have broken in the gen.

Whenever I see anyone mention the remake in any game chat or video review, it's always criticism for various reasons. It sold well but that was due to the original's popularity and not Bluepoint. I doubt another remake would do well.

Bloodborne was not the flagship for PS4. PS4 came out in November 2013 and Bloodborne came out in March 2015. And Fromsoftware didn’t make the Demon’s Souls remake. So no, there’s no precedence for Fromsoftware making flagship titles for Sony.

I remembered it differently but It seems you're right about the release dates. I guess we'll have to see but that's my call and I'm sticking to it.

It’s the extremely loud minority as is the case with most things on the internet. User reviews are high too on those sites. The purist neckbeard Reddit types have always represented a small fraction of the gamer base fortunately.

I follow most of the big Souls streamers and they never play the remake. They replay all of Fromsoft's games constantly, including the original Demon Souls, but never the remake. Maybe it's a vocal minority of complainers influencing that decision or maybe it's just not popular enough with the community.

It's dated, that's why. It's a wonderful remake but it doesn't compare to From Software's newer titles. The boss fights feel dated, it's a much shorter experience, there's less exploration, etc. Doesn't take away the fact that the remake is a technical masterpiece though. Still stands as one of the best looking games ever in my opinion. It's a fun game to go through once or twice but it's not something that people will probably put hundreds of hours in like other games. I don't think that's necessarily a flaw though. Plenty of good games on the shorter side.
