Which Sony title are you most looking forward to?

My daughter wanted to play a CD I got her for her birthday. It was part of a small box set that included
a shirt as well. I said let's play it on the stereo instead of the small boombox.
.......And the fun begins.


I put the CD in the PS5 and it won't play. I was today years old when I found out that audio CDs won't play on PS5.

So I power on the Xbox X then.
Piece of shit Xbox displays in 640 resolution once again, despite me trouble shooting it
at least 6 times over the last several years. TV is 4K, cables are good, it was set up correctly years ago and randomly
defaults to super low resolution when TV and Xbox is turned on in an order it does not like.
I find out I need the audio player application to play CDs. Great install it, and it is skipping really bad and won't let me advance the
songs. CD is flawless with no scratches.

So between over $1,500 worth of PS5, Xbox X, Stereo and speakers I cannot play a mother fucking audio
CD. FUCK!!! Fuck 2025!!!

I read randomly somewhere that ps5 couldn’t play cds and I was surprised by that to.
 
State of Play announced for tomorrow but its for Japan and games being developed in Japan and other areas of Asia, will be in Japanese with English Subtitles

Hoping to see Pragmata, RE:9, Tides of Annihilation, Phantom Blade 0 and maybe Astrobot update/even a sequel announcement.

AstroBot feels done. When you complete the latest DLC it gives a big thank you. Agree with the other stuff although I won’t upset if RE9 isn’t here. Feels like we’ve gotten many trailers already. Honestly just glad to get a state of play. This came out of nowhere so anything just a bonus at this point. I’d like to see a new trailer for Romeo is a dead man. My type of game. Love the over the top silliness. Also if you look at my last post I showed a trailer of Loulan The Cursed Sand. Looks like old school god of war. Surprised nobody seemed to care. Thought it would attract some posters here. Hopefully we see that appear again

There were 3.9m PS5's shipped in FY25's 2nd quarter (July / September), now upto 84.2m lifetime

Barely. I think the only game I’ll pick up from that State of Play is BlazBlue Entropy Effect X. I think that was also the only real new announcement. I’ll say one positive thing is that I do enjoy the format of having a host and short interviews. Just wish there were more compelling games on display. Hard to be too disappointed though. Still a ton of games coming in 2026
 
Pretty much the only thing I play these days is Nightreign so the announcement of DLC that’s only three weeks away was welcome news.
 
A lot of mobile game news coming this week. Apparently a Horizon MMO game got leaked a bit early but I won't post the trailer here until it's officially revealed. However, one game that did get officially revealed is a multiplayer Ratchet and Clank game. I'm not a mobile gamer but I'll try it out. Even if people hate mobile gaming I think we would all benefit from Sony getting a big hit to fund other projects.

No new map unfortunately, which is to me the biggest let down.

What they are bringing are two new player classes, two new night lord bosses, and a new shifting earth event.

Shifting earth events are major modifiers to the map that you can select. Off the top of my head there’s four presently:

-One that adds a mountain to the map similar to Mt Gelmir or Jagged Peak

-one that makes a giant fissure in the earth filled with lava that’s kind similar lake of rot and the grand cloister area, but swap out liquid scarlet rot with lava

-one that adds a small city to the map similar to Nokron or Nokstella, but above ground

-one that adds a swamp/forest area that’s infested with scarlet rot

I think that’s all of them, but the DLC is going to add a fifth which we know nothing about other than the name so far of “forsaken hollows” which is also the name of the DLC itself.

I saw the Horizon one and it actually looks pretty damn good. I hope they bring it to consoles if it does well.

That all sounds pretty cool but, yeah, when I think of the core NR experience, a new map for setting is at the heart of that.
