Has there been any Star Wars game news considering the date? I rewatched the Star Wars Eclipse trailer and loved it just as much as I did the first time. One of my favorite game trailers. Very Haunting.

No screens or anything but yeah confirmed trilogy game in Jedi series. And the tactics/XCOM style game got a teaser trailer.

Eclipse still confirmed in production.

Jesus Christ why does everything have to release at once. There’s almost nothing in June, July, and most of August and then within a two week span there’s this game, Lost Soul Aside (got delayed to August 29), Shinobi, Hell is Us, and Terminator 2D: No Fate.

Man it's crazy. It's been like the past 2-3 years of constant releases. There are so many games I want to get but I legitimately don't know if I ever will. KCD2 is probably my next game but I'm not sure. Played 2 JRPGs back to back so I need to chill for a bit before hoping into something else. Might just slowly work on the plat for E33 until I'm ready to jump into something else. Also Mindseye, I don't know something about that game really interest me and I'm thinking of waiting for it. I always enjoyed games like Sleeping Dogs, and GTA when they had a good story and this looks like that kind of game.

Thanks for reminding me about Mindseye. It’s PS5 Pro enhanced too and it got a big marketing push at the last state of play. I like Sci-fi as well. Looks a bit generic , especially the main character. I remember hearing someone that worked on GTA V is behind this game so it would make sense that it reminds you of that. Even if I don’t end up getting it there’s a few indies I’m interested in as well as lies of p dlc and wuchang fallen feathers

Nice. I still haven't beat the 2nd one but it's in my que. The only bumming thing on Eclipse is that I believe it's a story game similar to Detroit Become Human? Not sure those types of game hold my interest.

I accidentally purchased the Bounty Hunter update not too long ago. Might have to give it a try at some point.
There’s some controversy surrounding this bundle because this version has three less games for some reason compared to the version on the Switch. It’s also priced at 90 bucks and over 100 for the switch one. Kind of nuts. I’m not a huge Star Wars fan though so I’ll be passing. I think the only time I was really into Star Wars is when I was younger and had a N64. There was a game called Shadows of the Empire. I was obsessed with it at the time

Yea, I don't know if I would pay that much for older games with the backlog of what I already have. I'm a fan of Star Wars but more of the deeper book lore.

You don't have to play everything at launch you know...

I just played through Stellar Blade, came out a year ago. Before that was Elden Ring...

Zaz, took your advice given price volatility.

Just got the Pro! Merry F Christmas, me. Beyond excited.

@Zazen

Ha! Haven't yet played anything Pro-enhanced. I'm also just today and tomorrow setting up because the buyer for my PS5 wasn't able to pick up until now.

Honestly, I think my icebreaker is going to be DOOM's Dark Ages, which is Pro-enhanced, iirc.

Do you recommend anything? I may reinstall Returnal and run a couple biomes to play around and experience it anew, too. I'm excited.

I believe you mentioned playing through Jedi Survivor- that is Pro enhanced. I couldn't tell you if it is much different than on base PS5 as I played it exclusively on the Pro

Returnal got a big upgrade
All of the Spiderman games look and feel very different
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart already looked great, now it legitimately looks like a Pixar movie with high FPS
The Avatar game I kept pimping is Pro enhanced.

There's a section of the PS store for Pro enhanced games you might wanna go through that list. You can check this website, as it has descriptions of the upgrades. I think it's not fully up to date but it should give you an idea of what to check out.

Thanks, man. Didn’t know about the Enhanced section in-store.

Ratchet already looked like a Pixar film, IMO, so I can’t imagine what it looks like on the Pro!

With more disc space than vanilla 5, reckon I’ll reinstall a few games and play around. Still playing Survivor, too. I’m searching for the final and third missing compass to navigate the nebula. Fun to compare mid-game how different it will look. Will update you on thoughts.

I was surprised at how much more clear Forbidden West was. Try installing it for 30 minutes or so and just fly around.

Not sure if you remember but I spent hours and hours in Forbidden West hunting and enjoying what I’d consider one of the best forest renders in gaming history. Thanks for the recommend. I 100’d the game but running around the woods at dusk or night could be fun for a session.

Is your TV 120hz or VRR compatible? Do you output audio from your TV via HDMI to your receiver?

If so, I am in the situation, but luckily there is a way to get it to work. You basically need a converter device- it's a small box that you connect directly to your TV and acts as a go between between the receiver and TV, so you can get 120hz and VRR.

Let me see if I can find it..

You need something like this

Welcome to the club
Thanks for this ! Do I just plug in tv with 1 hdmi and then another hdmi into this thing from my receiver ?

Yea- that's not the exact device I have- I have a SHARC unit which has been discontinued and replaced with a much more expensive unit. Basically it works like this on my TV

HDMI port 1: PS5
HDMI port 3: Switch
HDMI port 4: PS3

HDMI port 2 is connected to the SHARC unit. That unit is then connected to one of the inputs on my receiver.

I no longer need to change the inputs on my receiver, as anything that is connected to my TV sends audio to the TV, which passes through the TV to the SHARC unit, which then passes audio to the one input on the receiver.

This gives the benefit of having the consoles connected directly to the TV for VRR and the surround sound the receiver provides.
