He was invited over by Koei Tecmo. I don't think he was able to play the full game - only a few levels/areas. The gameplay is looking great though.
 
Can't wait for this. Been doing a ton of RPGs with BG3 and FF Tactics, ready for some action.

Had no idea the demo had save carry over. Huge plus to dive in earlier. Have just been bouncing between a few hold between games waiting for launch.

I was avoiding pretty much everything until I saw that gameplay showcase you shared. Anticipation is off the charts!

I can't wait to get into the weeds of the combat/builds. Nothing has yet matched Nioh 2 in that regard for me.

Just got home from work and checked the times to see the demo just dropped, was thinking it was tomorrow. Little wiggle room with time zone. Downloading now and hoping to get in a little time tonight.
 
I was at the shrine right before the first boss. Started spamming make offering to get rid of lower level gear for Amrita. Not sure if there’s a way to lock equipped items like in some previous titles. Anyway ended up accidentally getting rid of my equipment. To my surprise when I stopped praying at the shrine I noticed my character had no weapon or gear. Completely naked lol. Ended up farming nearby for some equipment. Got to the open field part. Seems to be similar to the alpha demo. Performance seems better which makes me happy. Not as fuzzy looking and more stable FPS. Demo should easily last until full game. This is essentially early access with how big this demo is.
 
Played for about an hour. Been a long time since I played a Nioh title, and struggling using the face buttons for attack. I remember in the first Nioh trying to customize the controls to put attack as the R1/R2 buttons, but it fucked up options for the ki counter and ended up having to switch back.

I do like the streamlined stances with samurai and ninja stances, instead of low/med/high stances. Those always felt like the move sets were to big and struggled with some of the later skills that swapped stances.

Can't wait for the weekend to sink some more time into it.

The stances are in the game too. Once you get the samurai locks you can put points into each of the stances for new abilities.
 
How long is the demo? I take it we have full options in the character creator, seeing as how our time/saves carry on in the full release?

I'm getting the flu I think, and a bit nauseous, so I don't think it would be wise to play much, but I'd like to get character creation out of the way, I always spend too much time on that.

It’s the alpha demo again with better performance and an early tutorial. I’d say 6 to 9 hours if you do side stuff and explore. 4 is probably the fastest if you just tried to rush to the main boss.

Made it out to the open field and running around stabbing things. Summoned a Bloodedge Demon and got absolutely cooked.

Almost feel like I'm getting to much loot. I feel like after every little skirmish I'm going into my inventory and assessing gear for upgrades.

Probably not. I think this one is actually bigger now looking at the map. Don’t remember there being this many areas. Not sure if they are all accessible but seems like it. Either way this is basically early access. I don’t think most people with a life are going to finish this by February 6. I’ll update if I end up besting it
