Multiplat Official Nioh 3 Disc **NEXT FRIDAY

Yokai slayers,

Team Ninja today publishes their feedback from the demo to make Nioh 3 the game players want.

Full write-up here.

There's a lot to unpack with players having evaluated combat styles, scoring, difficulty, et cetera.

They then roadmap changes that are already planned before full release in latter half of report. These changes span multiplayer plans, UI, enemies – you name it.

Enjoy.

If you're still reading this post, then, yes, you're preordering the game alongside me. Thanks. Bye.

Nioh 3, Saros, and Phantom Blade Zero. Is this anyone else’s top 3 for 2026? Having trouble thinking of any other games outside of these three that I’m more hyped for. Hopefully we get a release date or another demo for TGS since it’s already been confirmed to be there.

I'm also hyped for Tides of Annihilation and Pragmata has caught my interest, but I will definitely be purchasing all 3 mentioned. We will be eating good in 2026. GTA 6, too, of course, will be a huge game and I am looking forward to driving maniacally around South Florida.

I recently bought the Nioh Collection Remastered on PS5, so that will do nicely at the start of 2026 until Nioh 3.

I'm looking forward to those too. Tides reminds me a lot of FFXVI. Pragmata I'm a bit less excited for after learning about all the puzzles you do during combat. Hopefully it doesn't get boring quick.

Releases February 6, 2026.

110 dollars already gone. I think that's the most I've ever spent on a single game lol. Worth it though, they always add a ton of DLC and I don't have the patience to wait for a complete edition.

The rate at which I find myself finishing games is so slow now with 3 kids that I don't believe I will have this finished before Saro and / or CD release. They are really heavy loading the front of 2026.

I wish more games released during Christmas. I always have a ton of time off to play then.

Ditto. That stretch just before Xmas through to New Year's eve is the best time to play games, at least for me.

Winter is generally a quieter time overall, work wise, for me, but the holiday stretch is the goat. Most people are taking it easy too.

Not Nioh 3-related but I just got finished with Nioh and moving onto the dlc for the first time. I didn't like this game first time around, but it is pretty epic when you get used to it. I ran a pretty basic katana & magic build. Sloth can be OP, so I did only use it sparingly. I had a great time. I have heard that the dlcs are pretty tough, though. I am currently approx lvl 135, so hopefully I won't get one-shotted too often lol. If I do, I'll probably replay the first and second island quests on NG+. Looking forward to discovering these dlcs and moving onto Nioh 2 - which I never finished) - when the time comes.

My first playthrough of Nioh was when it first released and I relied heavily on co-op, lol. I wasn't patient enough to tackle each boss like I was this time. I feel good having completed the main story (and most side quests apart from the gank bosses near the end) and discovering what a gem Nioh is.

I remember that Nioh 2 being a much more refined game than its prequel and has more depth to its combat, so maybe I'll try something other than a katana.

Nioh 2 is miles better, at least combat wise. I'd love to see these guys work with from soft's world building/storytelling team, with Nioh 2's combat. You're in for a treat regardless!

Not sure if this was common knowledge, but I just found out that this is launching on Steam with the PS5 release. I expected a year delay, so I'm so freaking pumped, Feb 6th baby!

I haven't paid much attention to it, thinking I had a longer wait, but I just watched a few things about it, sounds awesome.

Fighting Cowboy has a recent video where he played a newer build and has glowing things to say about its improvements from the alpha demo, which I'm assuming was only for PS5?

I just learned that there's some type of open world, and a dedicated jump button?? I loved Nioh 2's combat, but felt the level design and world building was pretty meh. The enemy variety wasn't great either, but the gameplay crack was more than enough, very rare for me. Hopefully they improved on those aforementioned aspects, but I'll be down regardless!

I'm fucked in February. Everything I'm looking forward to is getting a release date that month. Only game outside of Feb that I will buy is Saros which comes out just a month later. I'm going to be playing February games all the way up until summer at least lol. The good news is the 3 after Nioh are probably relatively short games like 10 to 15 hours each. Nioh 3 takes priority though, I suspect that will take at least two months for me to do everything. I know I keep repeating this but I'm having trouble keeping up with all the game releases within the past two or three years. Feels like my three favorite genres (action, horror, and JRPG) have had a big resurgence all at once.

Nioh 3 - 2/6
Romeo is a Dead Man - 2/11
Reanimal - 2/13
RE 9 - 2/27

Rise of the Ronin was a mess I think. If you have a PS5 I'd feel much safer preordering it on that platform personally.

Thx for the reminder, I forgot about that game, it's PC or bust for me. I heard performance was terrible around launch, so I put it on the backburner as it was something I was interested in. Looking at the Steam forums, it's better now so long as you play in Dx11, but it's not getting a lot of attention from KOEI, prob long moved on to Nioh 3.

Hopefully they learned from past issues, and have a better launch here. I imagine it's the same engine? Regardless, after so many horrible PC ports lately, coupled with Cyberpunk initially, I always wait for day 1 reviews before buying.

Nioh 3 demo coming January 29th

Will be playing demo up until release. Good opportunity to play like 10 hours ahead of the full game. Usually these demos are quite long. Glad it’s just one week before so I won’t forget how to play. Sometimes I hate when demos are out months before a game releases for that reason
