Snaq never played against KAJ, Wilt, Russel, Gilmore. He played against an old and decrepit Moses. When Hakeem's competition is Ewing, Robinson, and Dwight ... it's not exactly the whose who of guys vying for the top player ever mantle.

Russell was a Center that struggled shooting 45% and Wilt was a 7'3 dude playing against white, naf, manlets.

He's a hall of famer, but he was never considered on Wilt, Jordan, Bird, Magic, KAJ, etc. level while he was playing. He was seen as one of the top guys, not the top guy like they were. People watched his highlights, noticed he got a bunch of steals, and deemed him better than he was. He wasn't even seen as better than Karl Malone while he was playing.

i actually think it's the exact opposite dudes are much bigger/thicker and waaaaaaaaay more athletic than they used to be, which is the reason why fundamentals were so important back then. When PGs are backing down from half court, ya you gotta have excellent footwork to get by guys. It helps they couldn't carry

prime chris kaman would dominate every other previous era of basketball, and i'm dead serious

they didn't have guys like Ryan Anderson, or Dirk. the league was way different and every time a big that wasn't Rodman or Hakeem stepped out they looked ridiculous on D
