There seems to be a random bike thread popping up pretty often in The Berry but thought it might be cool to just have a random place to post things. What do you ride, whats on your wish list, gear, reviews, whatever....

Here is what I ride now.

1983 Kawasaki KZ550

I am probably going to get a new bike next year. Here are some of my candidates so far

Ducati Scrambler

Triumph Thruxton

Yamaha XSR900

YESSSSSSS I was hoping a thread like this would pop up!! I really want to get a bike within the next year or so. I need to take the MFS* course first. Would love to get something like a Phantom:

What kind of motorcycle is this?

It's a Triumph Thruxton. Its a "modern retro" bike. So basically its a new bike designed to look like a custom cafe racer style bike. It has a parallel twin engine and is mostly made to be a sort of urban commuter bike. Basically look cool and sound cool but still be comfy and reliable enough for commuting and city riding.

Ah gotcha! Do you like ape-hangers? I think I like the low profile ones like on the phantom I posted above^^ Are those called beach bars?

I'm all outa Racing bikes and down to a Dual-Sport Clunker:

In a week I'll finally get to ride it in Colorado, so maybe it won't be so bad going slow with scenery involved.

I don't really care for the chopper look. I'm really more into the cafe, scrambler, brats, and tracker styles.

Yes I know it's kinda hipster but who cares. I likes what I likes.

I don't like ape-hangers either. Seems difficult as fire to maneuver. I'd rather have something more functional instead of something that is for aesthetic purposes

Cafe bikes are not comfortable.

Cafe bikes are not comfortable.

In general I would agree with you. It's hard to imagine something like this being comfortable at all.

However most reviews of the modern retro bikes like the Thruxton, Moto Guzi v7 etc. praise them as being very comfortable in an urban setting.

I just saw this electric motorcycle. Seems crazy; since the only "advantage" is really a disadvantage on the street--no engine noise. That's like asking to get hit by a car. I know lots of times when I didn't see a biek while driving, I heard it.

This little electric all terrain bike seems cool:

ie: tolerable for 30 minutes at a time and not above 60mph

2002 Honda CBR 600 F4i

It looks very much like this one (taken from google search) with the high-mount exhaust

The F4i has the perfect balance I find of sport + comfort. It's not as hunched forward as RR but it can go on the race track no problem.

This is similar to what I ride now.

But I hardly ride it anymore and I'm thinking about selling it because I desperately want one of these:

I used to want a cool-looking bike, but I'm finding that cool-looking bikes are boring to ride. Now all I care about is fun, and that TW-200 looks fun as hell.
