PlayStation Official Ghost of Yotei Disc **NO SPOILERS

I kinda hate the weapon switching system ngl. I'd rather just stick to the katana.
Is there a charm that gives you spirit on perfect parry or dodge? I can't find it online but I'm sure there has to but I can't find it.
Yea seems most people don't like it but honestly I find it rarely makes a difference. Odachi with the brutes was the biggest difference I noticed. Even then you can just use sand on them and destroy them quickly.

I'm playing the game on normal and the difficulty doesn't seem bad. I remember having a much tougher time in GOT which I wasn't a fan of honestly. I don't mind playing difficult games but I'm not looking for that in these games.

On hard I kinda feel the importance of the different weapons especially against the tougher enemies. I'm playing with the cursed mask and the perfect parry armor (bounty hunter) and the charm that helps with the perfect parry timing. Makes my character quite strong but fragile.

I will also say that I initially thought the wolf would be a gimmick but she's saved my ass a bunch of times. Once you do enough wolf dens and she starts showing up more, it's incredibly helpful.

I started appreciating the wolf more when she showed up for standoffs as a +1. Major help, IMO.

I entertained a fun thought earlier in the game that the wolf could be Jin from Tsushima – a form of reincarnation something something.

I named her Mikage for honorable shadow. You?

Same name. The one that is best for me is the wolf attacks people you throw weapons at that is part of the onryo armor upgrade.

Especially if you are fully upgraded on standoffs... You slice 3, shoots one and she kills one to start your raid. Then stays the whole time and you can basically direct her by throwing weapons, she'll finish them off.

Also... side quest spoiler

Takezo has a very steep difficulty jump from the first fight to the "top of the world" fight. I used bounty armor, single katana and basically stayed in his face doing perfect parry and perfect dodge... At the end when I got him close I used all my big spirit draining moves then a smoke bomb and one last quick slash to end him.

Man...

big gripe with the ending:

Jubeis death was dumb as fuck. Not only unecessary, but felt so completely ham fisted and forced. Just "I'll help instead of saving my daughter and uhhhhhhhhrghhh..."[. The Kitsune should have died in his place imo. /spoiler]

I didn't mind that much although I think if he was going to die, it should have been earlier in the game. His death then seemed unnecessary as Atsu had already become a human again.

I wasn't a huge fan of Jubei anyway. His purpose mostly seemed to be as a link to the samurai and to have a daughter that would remind Atsu of herself before she became consumed by revenge.

I thought the story with the Spider was good though.

I didn't go into that properly prepared and couldn't beat it. I could do it now but I just wasn't ready for such a jump in difficulty. Also had no throwable\items in general. I just lowered the difficulty for that section and then raised it back up.

I was not prepared either. I just sat there for a while getting one hit killed instantly, then making it a few minutes, then making it until the weather hit, then spending time trying to slow the weather damage, then realizing that it's pointless.

Eventually, I realized fuck the weather protection, fuck his dumb charms (you don't have to wear them during the actual fight) and the only option was to never get hit. So I just worked to that.

If I had to do it again, at that level of gear/health, I'd have to spend another 3 hours memorizing the fucker.

That said, it was the only fight in the game that I had to do that in.

Also, my wife got super annoyed hearing swords clanging after an hour and made me wear headphones.

Yea I tried a few different things got him down to about 1/4 health at one point but I was just done with the fight. Like you said I could have spent an hour or two trying to memorize his move set but that's just not what I got this game for. Even with Souls games I have to be in the right mindset to play those games. I thought about just saving him for later since I was still in Chapter 1 but I wanted to get it done.

Now I'm just cleaning up all the trophies and just got to the final chapter.

Honestly, it was probably just my mood that day. Also, I had drank a few THC seltzers. I just got it stuck in my head that I'm going to beat this fucker.

Hate when a cinematic triggers and can’t loot my dead. Daddy needs his mask shards and coin.

The Oni was hard AF for me. His stage 2 with fire imbuement put me down fast. Got a little nervous I wasn’t strong enough.

Yea I was kind of surprised how strong the Oni was. Especially because I did a lot of side activities before even fighting him.

Agree

Oni was the first that I fought though so I didn't know if he was tough because of my level. I think he was the toughest of the actual bosses for me

Finished the main story plus all side quests a few days ago. Looking forward to NG+.

To summarize my feelings about the game I can only say that I very much prefer the story in Tsushima but Yotei did improve pretty much every other aspect.

Beat the game and got the plat. Great game enjoyed it a lot more than GOT.
Is there a PvEvP MP coming for this or am I misremembering?

Interesting, I like this story better. I liked Tsushima's too though
