Multiplat Official Fallout 76 Discussion

Lmao it never looked rough, you have no idea what you're talking about. The engine was a massive improvement in every way. And don't blame the bugs on the engine, that is on Bethesda for not properly play testing their games.

They can improve an engine while it shows it's ancient age. The two are not mutually incompatible.

I put the bugs on bethesda and the engine. The combination is why it keeps happening, game after game.

I'd agree with you now. That engine needs a proper overhaul, or scrapping. Back when Skyrim came out though, nah. That game looked great at release. I think its easy to forget that that game is a full 7 years old.

I'd argue the cracks began to show with "Fallout 4". While it still looked pretty good, it could've looked a lot better.

I don't like this engine, but other developers use same engines for years.
It's fact. Problem with Bethesda is, they work on bought product, engine is not their engine. Ofc it's improved, but fact you can find bugs from oblivion in fallout 4 it's sign they are not really masterfull with engine. You don't need to update engine to fix bugs.
Engine yes its' kinda shit in form they use it, but games can be fun even with worse things.
Bethesda it's not AAA developer anymore, because of lack of talented stuff imho.
Rockstar use same enigne since GTA3, but they update it, fixing bugs, because (not 100% sure) it's their engine.
CDPR use same engine in W3 like in W2 and they use same engine for Cyberpunk 2077, but engine was made by them, so they are masterfull with tools and you could see effects. Same about Rockstar.

Also I think Bethesda will be sucessfull even with this engine, If they will start to fix bugs. Still remeber there's nothing like Bethesda's games, sure we have many very well crafted open worlds, but Bethesda's sandboxes are kinda special with all crafting, picking up objects, crafting and building. It's neat, but they really have to step up their game...hire more (just hire writers :)) writers f, people who are good with engine and can fix bugs...
They are not monopolists anytime longer, and seriously Cybperpunk 2077 can kill TES6 and Starfield, RDR2 already mopped floor with F76 and W3 with F4.

Nah. If it were the engine's fault why are modders able to release patches to fix their games? If it's so ancient why are mods coming out for a 7 year old game that make it look stunning? The issue has nothing to do with the engine and everything to do with Bethesda's lack of quality control, which has been an issue since Morrowind and is finally biting them in the ass.

I'd much rather see them use the existing engine and play test the shit out of it than waste time developing a new engine, which will undoubtedly be a buggy mess.

The engine is being added to with each game, taxing it more. Compound this with seemingly no q&a or bug testing, and you get this shit. And no, not even the mods make the games look stunning. I used the ultra high super hd pore vision packs for skyrim and f04. Still did not stun, or come close. Besides, I always liked the art style, not the graphics, of these games.

Don't know what you're smoking. When I was playing modded out Skyrim a few years ago it looked amazing.

Wakeup call for Bethesda. 76 has been universally derided, for good reason..
Half finished money grab..

Damn, they even screwed up the limited edition set.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.po...-76-power-armor-edition-bag-west-tek-bethesda

I am so glad i waited. Ive been a huge fan since Fallout 3 but the online only format made me hesitate and once i found out there were no npcs i decided i would wait for reviews.

I wouldve been one of those people with the power armor edition otherwise. Dodged a bullet on this one.

Heres hoping they dont screw up the next Elder Scrolls game.

BTW my fav games of all time are:
Gta series, Red Dead Redemption series, Elder Scroll Series and Fallout.

Rockstar already went to online only for GTA, im currently playing RDR2, so i have a lot of hope for Bethesda. Looks like ill be skipping this one though.

Fallout 76 is the game that just keeps on giving.

So not only does Bethesda fail as a game studio, but as a corporation too. Sounds like Zenimax, gonna Zenimax. Consumers who purchased the 200 dollar collectors edition are getting bluntly ripped off. The advertised Canvas bag is not a durable well made canvas bag, but a cheap, flimsy Nylon bag. Bethesdas support teams are offering nothing, giving non-responses and insulting $4.99, 500 atom microtransactions for the inconvenience LOL!!

Lol 5 dollars in real money would be an insult, let alone virtual money.

Not defending the game, but after seeing so many people complain that there are no human NPCs....isn't vault 76 the first vault to open? How would there be human NPCs?

Vault dwellers weren't the only people, human or otherwise, that survived the nukes.

To expand upon this, if lore matters, it was mostly major cities that were nuked on the west and east coast. So it stands to reason that some places weren't nuked at all or far away enough from the blasts that they weren't as negatively impacted.

While West Virginia is in close proximity to cities that were certainly nuked (DC and Pittsburgh in FO3) the east coast was bombed later and thus more people, vault dweller or not, had more time to seek shelter. I think it's also worth mentioning that the Appalachian Mountains runs through West Virginia and it's safe to assume that people would have constructed bunkers or taken up shelter in a mine.

TLDR: Bethesda is fucking lazy and couldn't be bothered to implement proper npcs. Instead, rely on shitty plot armor to explain why there aren't any. At the very least there should be non-feral ghouls running around.

what's your point? How much of this game did you play? PPL did seek shelter in the mines and turned into mole ppl, ppl did survive the nukes and turned into either raiders, responders, BOS, or other small groups. By the time vault 76 opens everybody is either dead or turned into the scorched or feral ghouls it's the main premise of the game.

I know reading isn't the average sherdogger's forte but you'll see I quoted the question I responded to in my post. In case you missed it though:

"....isn't vault 76 the first vault to open? How would there be human NPCs?"
I even put a TLDR. Again in case you missed it:

"Bethesda is fucking lazy and couldn't be bothered to implement proper npcs. Instead, rely on shitty plot armor to explain why there aren't any."

Not everyone who survived the war came from the vaults. There have always been people around around on the surface. Just being the first vault to open doesn't explain no NPCs. Unless Bethesda is ignorant of their own lore.

lmao at the stupid asses defending this game...
