A couple of easy kills of Wohan on Mayhem 10. Game is ridiculously easy with the right gear right now. Mayhem 4 was harder!

Using the drone and barrier with a while under 50% health gain 150% bonus radiation damage Monarch Assault Rifle.

Using the Clone (Shock backburner) and Drone with a 100% Sntnl/Cryo Flipper SMG to make short work of Wotan.

Nice. I've been farming for a good Monarch but Killavolt's being lame. Is yours x4 or x8?

X4, I prefer the tighter spread when using these high fire rate Vladolf Ar's. I only use it when fighting bosses though. I used the reflux to mob through the takedown. It was very easy.

the beast master. I always run sniper in this series. It's nice to have a distraction since I always play solo.
Nice. That was my first hunter as well since Zero was my guy in bl2. One tip I got is if you get an unforgiven jakob pistol save it. You can sticky torgue rounds from a bangstick and then switch to the unforgiven for the crit bonus if you are running crit build.

Zane was my first cause Zer0 was my first in BL2. Those two went to the same Assassin training apparently. Zero has a hologram for distraction and Zane has a clone that does real damage

They ever bring Gaige and Krieg back? They woudl be the only reasons I reinstall the game as they were two of my favorite characters.

Yeah they did some splitting for sure. Actually I do remember I chose Zane at first during a beta or early access because of the clone. But I heard from reviews he was geared to be more for explosives or some shit that you set up shop with the clone and switch back. But this is from ign type folk. They also said that fl4k was geared more for jakobs single shot since his crit was so high. Lol

Edit: Honestly I will say this game shits on 2 when it comes to gameplay. Everyone is on Jack's nuts about 2. I personally hated the sludge mechanic. This game took that out and made multiple builds viable between all characters. I have all 4 leveled to 53 and they all have strengths and weaknesses. Except Amara now there is a build that all u need is a 300/90 gun and ties that bind can do billions without pulling the trigger.

For the story all the vault hunters from 2 made an appearance except for Krieg that I noticed. I am sure I was drunk and missed it. Gaige plays a big part probably moreso than any other as far as dialogue goes in a DLC.

EDIT but I played the first one hard as a Mordecai main so I was super happy when they brought him back in 2 and I was Zer0. We just sniping all the enemies when he drunk from his tower covering me.

Also if you liked Gaige's playstyle. I never played played as her but Moze has a Deathtrap that is a big ass robot that you can either get inside and literally destroy everything around you now or have next to you doing work same time you are with gun.

At the start of the game, Zane was probably the least powerful VH and I could only beat the Maliwan Takedown using a barrier/drone CCC build with an executor com.....don't really like that playstyle as I'm not a fan of the barrier since it nearly makes it impossible to take damage when spec'd into deterrence field.

But once the Seein Dead com was released it made it simple with the clone/drone. Now all content seems easy to me on Mayhem 10.

I beat everything with Zane and Amara.... Fl4k bored me after playing with Zane lol. I never really tried Moze, I think I might do another playthrough using her.

Yeah Zane was my last vh to try. Went fl4k, moze, amara, then zane so I missed the struggle. Not sure what you would call my spec but I did drone/clone. Way too much fun just zipping back and forth between clone. I beat takedown m4 at lvl 53 so it worked.

I agree fl4k is boring but I didn't do any builds with him besides fade away guerillas because way too much damage to pass up.

Moze is super fun now I bet. I played her when Iron Bear was a joke. Just good for the some for the road skill and ase. Still fun though because super tanky with so much splash and ammo. Compared to Zane and if you played Amara with Spiritual Driver will seem super slow. Just tons of explosions. And she has a nifty skill where she can shoot sprinting. Definitely worth giving a try especially since dlc 3 weapons will absolutely wreck with her.

Also Amara is so broken right now. You can literally hit for billions with ties that bind without pulling the trigger. Just need any gun with 300/90.

(if this isn't the right thread to necrobump, feel free to move)

since this game's cheap now and i can probably get it for ~$10 or less, thought i'd gaige how sherbrah's think of it now. i know a lot got pissed at the season pass or deluxeultimatecompletewhatever edition not actually containing the full dlc or whatever. or season pass and psych, season 2 pass... oof. gearbox gonna gearbox.

i recently played bl2 for the first time in 6-7 years to give the lilith dlc a gander and now i actually kinda feel checking out bl3. but i hate gearbox/don't want to give them money/am skeptical.

I'm happy with my purchase, pre-ordered it and the full season of DLC, and just recently bought season 2 DLC.

For the price of 10$, you can't really go wrong, even from the moral standpoint of not wanting to give GB your money....they'll probably only see a minor amount of that 10 anyway. End game balance is the biggest issue with this game for me, too many weapons don't do any damage, you're limited in the builds you can create to truly tackle the game at the most difficult setting imo. I really only played with two vault hunters (Zane and Amara) and the scaling at the end game with action skills is really gamebreaking in some instances. I never had any issues with the bugs that I see a lot of people talking about but I only play solo. There's a ton of legendaries in this game compared to BL2. Mediocre storyline with fun gameplay.

aiight. maybe i'll keep an eye out for sales or even a sale + $10 epic coupon or something.

re: legendaries - the lilith dlc in bl2 had boatloads of them. it was pretty dumb. i actually think they should drop less/have more rng. but i'm also a non-cheating, generally solo weirdo.

i also thought bl1 was the best by a huge margin and liked the way the items worked with their modularity, opening up tons of combinations. and it made the (tons of) legendaries not toooo bad since only a small amount would drop with a barrel/mag/etc that you'd want.

but i do truly detest gearbox. haha

You can buy the game preowned, this way T2 and gearbox dont get your money.

If you also truly hate them, but want to play the game, you can pirate it. Depends on your ethics though.

i'd be playing on pc, so used games isn't much of an option... and piracy is generally easy. but oddly, i tend to only pirate old/obsolete games/roms via emulators.

but yeah, i could do that. haha

so i bought this for $5 over the holidays or something and only now just started playing it.

it seems to be... pretty bad. like stunningly mediocre. it seems like a knock-off of a borderlands game (moreso than tps, which should say it all).

and it's easy. like, real easy. i haven't died yet and was downed one whole time. and probably related, but legendaries drop like candy. it's actually annoying how often i get legendaries. i'm getting them faster than i can even really play around with them/use them. like, wtf?

does it actually get better? is the dlc actually not terrible? (i won't be buying it, anyway. it took the game being $5 to justify paying it. fuck gearbox. should have torrented it, anyway. lolz)

I've only played through the story, haven't started the dlc yet but it feels like it drags along. Some missions feel like way to long compared to some of the older stuff.

I had the same problem too with legendaries too. They seemed to drop really easily.

Depends what you mean by "better". I mean, it is what it is. I don't think the core formula changed all that much. They did make some odd decisions, though. I agree that it's a little too easy on the default setting, and for some dumb reason they didn't have a standard "hard" setting out of the gate. I've beaten some bosses in under 30 seconds, and I ain't no FPS master by any stretch. The frequent Legendary drops are a blessing and a curse. There are a lot of L drops, which makes it easy enough to experiment with different L weapons so you're always switching stuff up, but it renders everything else useless. Outside of the opening few hours, I haven't touched any green/blue/purple stuff.

Where it really dropped the ball, is the writing. I don't expect great things from BL in that department, and it's always been stupid and juvenile in a good way, but this game is aggressively obnoxious and lame in its writing. Damn near everything is a poop joke, and the characters just go on and on and on, with jokes that weren't the least bit funny in the first place. The writing is like "that guy" at a party who thinks they're funny, and everyone is too polite to tell him to shut the fuck up.

That all said, it's still a good game to mess around with. It's a fucking huge game with tons of stuff to do(you certainly get your money's worth). It looks great and has more diverse areas than any other BL game. Legendaries might drop a little too frequently, but I'm always interested in what the next one does, so it doesn't kill the loop. It's easy(at least initially), but it's still fun to massacre areas in all sorts of ways that are ever evolving, and at the end of the day, that's really what game is all about.
