Multiplat Official Battlefield 6 Disc **BETA Weekend LIVE

Want to share a playtester/creator’s thoughts on all after he’d also spoken with devs.

10 things he wants to highlight about the game:

10. Battlefield 6 is a clear successor to Battlefield 3 and 4 (with a little bit of Bad Company thrown in).

9. Destruction is "deterministic" rather than random – and there's a reason for it.

8. Classes are back with open weapons that won't be what defines them.

7. There's more mobility than ever before, including the ability to cling to vehicles.

6. Dragging your friends to safety feels pretty damn heroic.

5. The new Battlefield Portal experience builder is so detailed you can build minigames into the UI alone.

4. There'll be 9 maps at launch, including an old favorite (operation firestorm from bf3).

3. The shotgun is an absolute beast and you should fear it.

2. There's a brand new game mode coming – "Escalation".

1. Battlefield 6 launches this October (confirmed).

Can you tell me about this OG Firestorm map that's launching with the game? I don't know it but sounds cool.
That's that big map with the oil rig isn't it?

Not sure. The only oil rig map springing to mind is an old Duty one called Rust, where we fought around this type abandoned desert refinery. Very fun actually if not a merry-go-round of murder.

I have to ask, my man: did you pull the trigger? Standard or Phantom Edition?

Nah not yet lol

You're playing this? What are you running it on? If PC, what are your specs and settings/performance if you don't mind.
I wish! This is me screengrabbing another guy playing. The decoy gadget looked so realistic behind cover that I wanted to share here. People are preloading the beta already though. Expect 33 GB.

its the map with an oil refinery its land based

Not really my fav BF map, but hopefully they bring back more classics for BF3/BF4. I want the meatgrinder maps like Metro and Locker

People need to properly gauge their enthusiasm here. FPS landscape has changed dramatically over this past decade. Such games need to be esport focused or third party corporate advertising slop to be successful. While following the content and meta altering patch cadence of MOBA's. Marketing budget has also exploded since game studios need to payoff gaming influencers to retain and gain general playerbase interest for months after launch.

2042 released in a beta state an was eventually patched into a fun playable state with periodic -80% off retail price sales. Yet it only ever achieved a average 5,000 active daily player count. Battlebit Remastered was universally praised at release for being a true Battlefield clone yet only averages 500 active daily players today. The large scale Battlefield'esque arcade shooter FPS subgenre hasnt been a successful live service since the PS3/XBox 360 days.

For a newly released FPS title to be successful it needs to cannibalize the audience of other FPS games. An the closest playerbase crossover comes from the Mil Sim FPS subgenre. Where Battlefield franchise is incompatible with that FPS subgenre core concepts.

All this with a initial price tag of $70 with another eventual heavily monetized free to play Battle Royal game mode. While we the veteran gamers will enjoy a return to form Battlefield release. We are no longer the required daily target audience game studios need. *2042's first content patch had a planned monetized Santa Claus character model skin, lol.

What does this game do to extract and retain players from Fortnite, Call of Duty, Roblox, CS2, Valorant, Crossfire, RS6, Overwatch, Marvel Rivals, Apex Legends, PUBG, Delta Force, Escape from Tarkov, Warframe, Destiny 2 or Arma?

Servers aren’t even yet live and guys are queueing to placement the tune of 20K+. This beta is going to be popping. boom.gif

I'm a BF2 vet from back the early 2000s and ready to finally jump into a proper BF game again. Really pumped for the beta!

Early access codes are still available if anyone wants to jump in tomorrow.
