lmao.

A reporter at Mike Brown’s press conference before Game 2 of the Warriors-Jazz second-round series on Thursday decided to get in a question about one of the biggest trending topics on sports Twitter: those $495 signature Lonzo Ball shoes.

“Would you buy your kids a pair of shoes for $500 from an unproven NBA player after college?”

The Warriors interim head coach’s response was to laugh, say “Uhhh, no,” then laughed some more.

I dont care what anyone says. Mike brown has the toughest coaching gig. To be thrown to the wolves during playoffs and remain undefeated. Goat coach

...<{yearp}>

Don't like the dad's personality but gotta respect his hustle. Free publicity because of his troll comments and now making $2 million off shoes that no one has worn before. He's standing up against big corporations and it seems like he's in a good spot so far.

those nikeid customs are pretty legit, especially if you want unique colorways

made my brother some sick ass kobes, and i have like 4 or 5 ID's myself

These ugly ass shoes look like they're made out of recycled tires.

You know hwhat, on first glance I'd wear those.

I may have to get some triple B's since everyone else is too poor to buy some.

After you get bored of them after your first wear ship them up to Canada Revo

assuming half of those purcharse orders (~2,300) are actually pre-orders of the shoe... they will be grossing US$1.14 mill, not bad for a couple of days in business, that's cash they'll be sitting on. Obviously they will net much less than that after procurement costs but lets say they achieve a 25% bottom line margin... thats US$285k clean in pre-orders... not saying they will replicate it throughout the year but its a decent starting point for someone who didn't ink a mainstream deal

It's definitely a good start for the brand especially if they can keep it up for the long haul. More money for them than signing with one of the bigger companies.

Lmao

They're gonna make all their money on initial hype. Unless he's the next superstar, nobody's gonna care about these ugly shoes or what his dad has to say

I just hope for Lonzo's sake he's not a bust. Yeah, he'll likely make his money and with his background, he'll probably know how to not blow it all, but being an international humiliation story isn't something I'd really want to be just for some extra money (he'd make most of it off being a high draft pick anyway).

Big risk = big reward. Not sure how much NBA rookies make but he'll still be a millionaire even if he's a bust. The family probably figured it's a good gamble even if Lonzo gets laughed at.

Yeah, that's my point. He's gonna make money whether he's loud or quiet. I have no problem with them deciding either way. But the difference in money isn't worth being a running joke for years imo. If he turns out to be a good player, great, it'll probably pay off. I just hope he does.

Supposedly Nike offered him 2 mil a year.

Hopefully The Juice comes out gunning in the first so i know to just go to bed early
