I was looking up some of the upcoming cards today; and while looking through some fighters’ records I came across some interesting footnotes, and was curious who has some of the most interesting footnotes in their record. Here’s some that I found:
Tom Lawlor – first ever pro fight against Ariel Gandulla = No Contest “Fighters fell through cage door.”
Ilir Latifi – also in his pro debut = “Fight ruled a no contest due to faulty cage.”
Sam Alvey vs. Paul Bradley = No Contest “Fight stopped due to rainfall.”
Alex Morono – win vs. Rashid Abdullah = “DQ – Abdullah bit Morono’s chest”
Chris Camozzi – win vs. Joey Villaseñor = “Originally scored a draw; result changed later as one scorecard was incorrect.”
Ben Rothwell – Win vs. Kerry Schall = “Schall fell out of the ring.”
And though he’s not aUFC fighter, if you look at Schall himself he’s got a win against Chris Herring via: “Herring couldn't continue after Schall landed a punch directly to the eyeball”
And while John Linekar has 4 catchweight bouts, its spread over a span of 8 fights. James Krause has 4 straight catchweight bouts in a row, moved up to to welterweight for 1 fight, then has another to make it 5 out of 6 catchweight fights in 2011-2012.
Curious what are other random/weird footnotes out there on some records?
