Obama's 2017 Best of List:

Obama is the grand master deep state overlord, the true puppet master. Witness this FB post that is actually throwing shade word by word at Trump:

"During my presidency, I started a tradition of sharing my reading lists and playlists. It was a nice way to reflect on the works that resonated with me and lift up authors and artists from around the world. With some extra time on my hands this year to catch up, I wanted to share the books and music that I enjoyed most. From songs that got me moving to stories that inspired me, here's my 2017 list — I hope you enjoy it and have a happy and healthy New Year.

The best books I read in 2017:
The Power by Naomi Alderman
Grant by Ron Chernow
Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City by Matthew Desmond
Janesville: An American Story by Amy Goldstein
Exit West by Mohsin Hamid
Five-Carat Soul by James McBride
Anything Is Possible by Elizabeth Strout
Dying: A Memoir by Cory Taylor
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward
*Bonus for hoops fans: Coach Wooden and Me by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Basketball (and Other Things) by Shea Serrano

My favorite songs of 2017:
Mi Gente by J Balvin & Willy William
Havana by Camila Cabello (feat. Young Thug)
Blessed by Daniel Caesar
The Joke by Brandi Carlile
First World Problems by Chance The Rapper (feat. Daniel Caesar)
Rise Up by Andra Day
Wild Thoughts by DJ Khaled (feat. Rihanna and Bryson Tiller)
Family Feud by Jay-Z (feat. Beyoncé)
Humble by Kendrick Lamar
La Dame et Ses Valises by Les Amazones d’Afrique (feat. Nneka)
Unforgettable by French Montana (feat. Swae Lee)
The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness by The National
Chanel by Frank Ocean
Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man
Butterfly Effect by Travis Scott
Matter of Time by Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings
Little Bit by Mavis Staples
Millionaire by Chris Stapleton
Sign of the Times by Harry Styles
Broken Clocks by SZA
Ordinary Love (Extraordinary Mix) by U2
*Bonus: Born in the U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen (not out yet, but the blues version in his Broadway show is the best!)"

Maybe I'm missing something, but how is this post throwing shade at Trump?

As a side note, Obama is more hip than I am. I hardly know any of those songs.

Every single item in that list was picked with the express purpose of throwing shade.

Throwing shade? How, exactly? Trump isn't even hinted at.

In 2017 Obama read more books than the entire Trump family has in their lifetimes.

"throwing shade" is such a disgusting term & you should be ashamed you used it. just say he's "hating" God damnit.

Maybe the shade is being thrown since Trump apparently can't even get through a single page of a book

Bruce has been playing a stripped down 12-string guitar version of Born in the USA for like 25 years. Not exactly a tough version to come by. He started playing it because so many people completely misunderstood the message when he played the original upbeat version.

I think discussing a reading list period can be seen as subtle shade, as Trump probably hasn't read a book in decades. But I doubt that was Obama's actual intention.

This. Virtue signalling literacy is a huge diss to Trump.

Can't wait to see Trumps best of list...

I can almost guarantee it would be:

The Art of the Deal followed up by Breitbart, Fox News and Stormfront articles

The System Only Dreams in Sleep (Amazing Song, BTW) by the National, album, Sleep Well Beast.

Shade.

Shade.

Saw the National the other day in DC. They were just okay. The guy literally fucked up the very first song about 10 seconds in, stopped his band, started over, fucked up again, and then said, "We'll come back to that one." It was hilarious.

Saw Springsteen last summer in DC, he played for like 4 hours and remembered all his songs. That's a real professional.

I think it would be even funnier if he felt threatened and tried to one up him:

War and Peace (very long, tremendous)
The Bible (the best!)
Jerusalem (I was the first to read it!)

Oh, The National are fantastic.

But the Boss, well, he's the boss.

I disagree.

It was intentional.

I bet, even, that he knew someone would make the comparisons/connections and take it on sherdog. But That's just my thought.

Dang. He read more books last year than I have in several. I'm going just going to make the excuse that it's because he's retired, and not because I'm lazy shit.
