I've heard nothing about any new monument, but I had a feeling when I read this thread title that (assuming the story was true) it was about a gay monument.

I was in downtown STL today, and was pleasantly surprised to see a city block set up for a gay pride gathering. Wasn't sure how that would play around here. As I drove by there was one miserable-looking family catty corner to the entrance of the park, holding up signs about god and hell, and they were dressed exactly like this thread.

The message was about equality on obamas quotes.

The logical assumption of obama is that they are not equal and need tax dollars to go toward a monument for a group of people that is legally recognized as equal.

In the case of stonewall, yes I think violently rioting was the best course of action. They had to show en they weren't going to be fucked with like that anymore.
