It will be interesting to see what a society of children raised on divisive identity politics will look like in 20 years.
I think a good portion of black vernacular English exists as a form of protest.
They see how it absolutely irritates whites to see "their" language not being spoken "properly" so they keep it alive for that same reason. They can't reclaim their original African languages so they're going to modify English to make it their own.
I love it.
I have to live with these kids 25 years from now, so no thank you.
