Hello all,

I am going to start training in MMA - muay thai and BJJ and wanted to get some thoughts from those who have more experience and knowledge about the NYC dojos.

I am trying to choose between the 2 schools based on the quality of instruction

I like the 2 schools because they have very long training sessions - I can train for 2+ hours every night after work which is great and they both seem to have good instructors

Can anyone please comment on which school they feel is better?

Many thanks in advance.....

for mma in nyc, I wouldn't recommend any one gym other than Renzo's.

They only teach BJJ with respect to hours after work that I can attend...I would be interested in training 2+ hours each day 5 days per week --- and I think the price difference would be too steep for me compared to the other 2 schools........

Plus I would imagine that the classes might be too crowded ????

And I want to learn other disciplines as well......

I understand how good their instruction but seriously, how big is the difference from the instruction I would receive from Fighthouse or NY Jiu Jitsu ?

I can train per week:

FightHouse: 5hours BJJ, 4hours MMA/Grappling and 4.5hours Systema
NY JJ: 12hours BJJ and 5hours Muay Thai

They do but I can only attend 7-8pm and 8-9pm BJJ

Can't go to their 6pm Muay Thai class

I don't doubt that their instruction is first class

But I also don't doubt that I wouldn't be able to learn a lot from the other schools - especially given the fact that my class time would be 2x that of Gracie.....

Am I completely wrong in my thinking ????

Is'nt fighthouse closed?

Steve,

Your school looks great -- I considered it but it has too many classes that start at 6pm.....
